So they got 2 years hard labour... shocking but not unexpected I guess knowing the back story.
When you see their 30 second protest, it seems very tame compared to what can be done without major incident in the western hemisphere. We somethine take our freedoms too much for granted. Russia seems to be really going backward - the courts also upheld the 100 year ban on gay pride marches in Moscow today too. :-\

Financial Times started reporting on them when they first played Putin Wet His Pants. They hate Putin as much as I do, so I like the rag.

It does indeed seem harsh and ridiculous. Sadly Russia is not alone in political, media-driven sentencing. I've heard of one country where two teenagers were given four years each for making a stupid and childish joke on facebook about rioting....

wow Guy - I just looked up the story you are talking about. I thought the US had harsh punishments for social media type comments.
