March 9th Sophie Lancaster benefit gig in Nottingham
Stoney, when I first saw this post, living in Notts, I stuck in on the calender planning to come along to give my support. I have now found out I have family commitments that I just cannot get out of on the 9th (the wife would kill me)
Hats off to you and your band for taking part in this event.
I still remember the anger and sadness I felt when I heard about what happened to Sophie on the news. Myself, like I am sure most people on this forum, now or in the past have chosen to go around looking "different", but thankfully got nothing more than funny looks or daft comments. what happened to Sophie and here boyfriend was totally revolting and unforgivable.
I hope the benefit gig is a success, not just in raising funds, but keeping the memory of what happened still alive.
I am sure you and your band, and the other bands will have a good day while up in Notts.
R.I.P. Sophie, she will be young and beautiful forever.

cheers mate, as you may or may not know, NMA have also been ardent supporters of the S.O.P.H.I.E. Trust, they donated a track to the download compilation and have donated merch to the raffles for the last 2 events Keyside Strike played at. Aswell as signing a bunch of vinyl I had spares of to put into an auction fer one of the do's we played in Blackburn. Sophie's mum was at that one. Loverly woman, and way more forgiving than I have the capacity for....

I knew about the track from NMA and Joolz, I did not about the donation of mechandise, for raffles, now I am really sorry I cannot make it to the gig :(
I saw the link Viv put up for the album on here, it can also be found on the foundation web site.
When the main NMA site is relaunched, would be good to have a link to it

I should also add that Ben Shand (ex NMA guitar tech and all round guitar n bass expert) has also donated to the S.O.P.H.I.E. trust................ And a substantial donation at that! We always hand over merch etc for the trust...... Play the gigs purely for expenses etc........... Vital part of the scene really. I would play for free if I could but thats no an option financialy........
