Title: Have any other bands covered NMA?
Post by: Master Ray on September 11, 2013, 10:39:34 PM
I'm not talking about local / Youtube kind of bands (although if you have a good example, I'd love to hear it...), I mean recognised, signed bands...

Off the top of my head, I can only think of this...

I'm sure the rest of you can think of others... just hope my sad old brain hasn't forgotten anything obvious...

 ;)

Anacrusis recorded "I Love The World" on their "Manic Impressions" album.

Ken, the main guy in the band has also recorded "No Greater Love" and Living In The Rose"

Skyclad recorded "Master Race"

I think The Raw Melody Men did some covers a while ago... also 'Justin Sullivan and Friends' and 'Justin Sullivan and Dave Blomberg"did some too if I remember correctly.

Not bad cover I have to say  ;)

Sepultura did a crushing version of 'The hunt' on the album Chaos A.D.
Very metal yet faithful nonetheless...

From way back in 1982.....co-writer Ashley Cartwright's band, The Shakes' version of 51st State (although I think they called it 53rd State!) Love the ending...

OK, it's not an NMA cover but NMA doing a cover with TJ - but worth a watch if you've not seen it before:

Cheers to Szmurf for putting it on YT in the first place  ;)

There was a version of Orange Tree Roads posted here a year or two back. Each to their own of course, but personally how anyone could take a song that good and manage to strip it of its emotion, and why they would want to, is beyond me. I looked for it on youtube just now but couldn't find it (its not the Acid Tuna busking one which is quite good)....  maybe for the best   :)
