Sad to hear Louis Collins died last night at the too young age of 67. Enjoyed watching the Proffessionals in the 1980s, and recently re-runs on ITV3.

The Proffessionals was ace, even watching it now - it is so bad it is good.
I heard a story about Louis Collins being in the army reserve & even making it through the selection of the SAS reserve, is this correct?
Either way I'm digging out my DVD of Who Dares Wins -
"tell him thanks for the kick in the nuts"

Yes, it is. This tells more if yor interested.

I agree it so bad, its good. The story lines would,nt stand up today, but I do find it watchable. Maybe for sentimental reasons. Same with the Sweeney.

Bloody gutted!
As a kid, it was such a treat to be allowed to stay up late and watch The Professionals... Friday nights,9pm!
EVERY kid in the playground wanted to be Bodie...
It was kind of a forgotten show for many years because Martin bloody Shaw found a minor clause in his contract that refused to allow repeats on TV... yeah, forget the fact that Lewis Collins or Gordon's widow might have appreciated the royalties... this show was beneath him, despite the fact that it made him famous! Shame he didn't have the foresight to imagine video/DVD and sateillite TV... prick.
Damn, doesn't it make you feel old when your childhood heroes die?
RIP, Mr Collins, sir...

I used to love The Professionals and like others was allowed to stay up to watch it.
It is very sad to hear of Lewis Collins death and I didn't know Martin Shaw felt the way he did about the show. I believe that Shaw & Collins didn't get on at all? Not sure if I made that up?
There was a recent photo of Lewis Collins on one of the news sites and he looked unrecognizable. RIP... another of my childhood hero's gone.
Does anyone remember CHiPs? Apparently the two leads in that hated each other.

Apparently, there was a lot of tension between Collins and Shaw. I read Shaws official press release today, which said a lot of guff about family and friends but didn't make a single reference about personal feelings...
Yeah, shit on the show that made you famous, why don't you..?
::)
