What do you think about the wikipedia article of New Model Army?
I think it's quite good. There's lot of information and some names from the beginning that I didn't remember.
However, the history section depending on releases seem to be contained in their own wiki articles rather than in the main text body. I think the information is maybe a bit scattered that way.
It would be nice to read also some memories what were the situations when the group met and how did they found each other/what were their whereabouts/what doing etc. F.e. Group changes in 90`s to -10`s might also be good to tell a little about. Things like Thatcherism in 80`s and forming of the Family should be some kind of cue points in the history too.
Don't get me wrong. On the other hand the article is written well and has lots of interesting information too.
Ok. Any thoughts?

Edit: Just removed a line from my text.
JS was mentioned in the founding. (I didn't see it first -sorry). Anyway would be good if the start up of the band could have some more space there, I think. Now its in the first two lines of the article.

I edited it a while back to correct the info about the founder members and Rob Waddington. I was surprised how complcated the process was! I intend to rewrite the page to include more detail. The 'super editor' advised me to look at Nine Inch Nails' Wiki page for ideas on structure and things to include. To be honest, there's a lot to learn about Wiki editing and I just haven't got the desire to tackle it at the moment - attending the tour is more fun!

Thanks for the link, I just compared it to the German Wikipedia article. Very strange to see, that the german article is much more detailed.
even if you dont understand it, just have a look you might guess what it is about.

Did a google translation to read the German version. Worked quite well apart from this bit ----
"Margaret Thatcher . Her musical roots are in punk"

Yea, ok Barty the editing way with Wikimedia Commons is that complicated...? :-\ of course. I checked the 'talk chapter' from the page too and there seemed to be some updates and corrections regarding the article. Anyway, it's great thing that you've informed them about what to change, Barty.

That looks very good. The main text body is the most important with headlines. When the text is kept in 'uber' chronological order with every details and events in history - then it's even possible to understand by a person that hasn't ever heard about a thing.
BTW, there seems to be something wrong with links here. When I clicked the link of German wiki site it took me to another page first. If you check the address bar up there, there's missing the last ")" -sign. (You can see it from the quote section above in this post, where the Keine Feier's link is highlighted and the last letter/sign is in a different colour.) I had the same situation with my links earlier today... ...is a good day. ;)
Shush, hehe...

I made myself a new rule twenty minutes ago to not post when drunk - I'm breaking it already so anyway here goes:
I thought the wiki page didn't matter much because it's only wiki - it's a brief introducion and in that sense its ok.
But I work through a site called Discogs and I recently ammended the NMA pages to mention Ceri joining the band and when I was dealing with this I saw that the whole NMA page was a cut n paste of the wiki info which is not good enough for a site like Discogs. I wanted to change the page but I wasn't sure if I was being too precious.
So - it's good to hear here that others are uncomfortable with what is lacking there at wiki ( and that is not to take away any value of the work that's been put into that page)
I feel more comfortable now to re-work the Discogs page. I'm thinking that the most comprehensive way is to simply edit the NMA biog here at nma.org and if there are any extra's that folk here think are worth noting please let me know, ta.
