I dont mind it actually. Just think dance mixes are a cop out. You pinch someones song and put a catchy drumbeat on it. Bingo!!!

Oh no - Not a NMA remix album ?????   And you lot thought the NMA Jazz Standards idea was bad.

yes, well ...... seems very well done and judging by the comments on there quite well received but didn't really seem to go anywhere. I'm not a total Luddite - I do like the Over The wire remix on Lost Songs - and have been known to have the odd dance moment but this I'm afraid just passed me by.

I think it's just too much of a dance track. At the risk of sounding like a purist I like NMA because of the lyrics and the music. The whole package.

I'm a bit too old and fat to be getting into dance music.  ;)

Well, I think it's nice if there are some different views to compose NMA songs. The song there didn't actually make a *whoa* affection on me but have to admit I was a bit curious to find out what kind of version there is. Trance version was obvious, of course, but that it was immediately the first cover version of Seven Times' is may be quite funny. What's next? Heavily distorted drum&bass or chiptune? ;)

I agree with you there. Mixing was very well done and somehow the artist page looked like "professional" and maybe the guy is about being serious with the stuff he's doing, don't know... I think it's interesting to find the name of NMA tagged in some surprising connections like it was now. Spreading the name you know.

I actually make some experimental, digital stuff too. I've played drums 30 years, but nowadays am moving more and more on to working with synths as a hobby. Used to listen quite lot to some certain electro/dub/industrial/d&b artists occasionally. But now many of these new artists sound all too same together with their new style. No catchy and complicated rythms, although quantisized throughly. It's just same all the time.

I liked the remix - yes it's different to an NMA mix and that's the point, which means its not going to be an automatic like for everyone...  yes a 'dance' mix but it wouldn't sound out of place aside many of the indie-dance remixes around 1990.

I'd prefer an old-school extended version over a remix most days - although the band seemed to dislike the idea when the 12" was popular, I rather like the few that they commissioned in the 80's.

Agree with that. When you really liked a single in the 80s, you would buy the 12 inch for around £3.50. Not mixed up, but perhaps the chorus blended in a couple more times, and the instrumental break extended.

Never been a fan of re-mixes. I really dislike the French remix of "over the wire", it kills the song for me, probably because the original is one of my most favourite songs in its original form.

It maybe a good remix, but if you just don't like remixes, then its not going to work for you.

P/S, welcome to the forum Gaijin, keep posting.  :)
