As I don't have the No Rest 7" or Brave New World 7" singles, I am wondering what versions of Heroin / RIP are used on those records?
Are they unique mixes or edits of their 12" Version?

I am already familiar with discogs.com thanks.
For example, Heroin 7" is 4m09s long - it doesn't tell me if the version is unique, or merely an edit of the 12".

I checked its details from windows media player: the version of Heroin in B-Sides & Abandoned Tracks compilation is 5:27 long. It's named as Heroin 12" mix (B-side to No Rest) 1985.

My question is about the 7" version. 8)
Notice that the 7"/12" version of many tracks differs with the CD version - sometimes the 7" bside is a unique track/mix.
I have digitized my records, and discovered that I am missing a few of the bside tracks on CD. I now have quite a few 'Bonus' Bonus Tracks for my iTunes. (11 at present) *
Example: The Extended Mix of Brave New World - It was replaced on the 'Abandoned Tracks' CD and the liner notes even say so. The Extended Version that actually appears on the vinyl record has not been reissued.

I'm just curious about what's on the record - I'm told I can't have all of them. ::)
RIP is a giveaway - every CD version is the Alternative Mix from the BNW 12" - I assume it's not the original version.
* By my count there are 14 in total - not too many, considering - still an album's worth of material though. (Wouldn't that be the most useful NMA bootleg ever?)

They are interesting details you told, Gaijin. You seem to have lots of rarities.
Btw, that reminds me on the other hand about the White Coats Chinese Whispers version too. I don't know if there any other versions than the EP version, but it "sounds" like an unique mixed version. Chinese Whispers is one of my faves. Different, authentic and rocking, straight to your face - like Young, Gifted & Skint.

I found the BNW 12" here,

The Heroin single version is unique.

Are there two different cover for the same single?

Yebo, the 7" has a figure crouched, and the 12" has the face with the weird teeth.

So I know this unique version :)

Can you tell me what's up with the 7" version of RIP?
-
I can't remember TBH, I remember No Rest didn't have the slow intro on the 7inch, it went straight into the song.
-
It seems that way.
It's not simply an edit, it's unique too.
If you drop both No Rest versions into some audio editing software, and then try to create the 7" from the 12" you'll see that it can't be done. There is some unique music, however short it may be.
