OK, I'm always thinking about new topics that we can talk about, just thought of this one, don't think it's been done before but, if so, please re-direct me... your signature, what's that all about?
Mine, as you might have noticed, is 'Take this sinking boat and point it home...' which might sound like something off 'Navigating by The Stars' but is actually from 'Falling Slowly', one of my favourite songs (and favourite films, ONCE) ever... I love those eight words, one of my favourite lyrics ever. So simple and, as someone whose been through a few bad times over the years, words I take comfort from.
So what's the story behind your signature, eh?
???

It's the sound my Bessom makes.
;D
-
the start the good the bad and the leftover crack by leftover crack. on the song it is spoken backwards and my signature is what it say
you think you're alive motherfucker, you're just the walking ******* dead......

Mine is a quote from the classic book "Walden" by Henry David Thoreau.
It's one of my favorite pieces of American classic-lit.
I have never found a companion that was so companionable as solitude. We are for the most part more lonely when we go abroad among men than when we stay in our chambers. A man thinking or working is always alone, let him be where he will.
There is an entire chapter devoted to solitude. I can really relate to it. It expresses that you can feel more alone in a large group than you can being completely alone in nature. Of course this does not apply to everyone but if i did not have a bit of solitude each day, I would become very depressed.
Of course, I may change it in the future.

My signature is a name of a DVD release based on interviews of the Beat novelist William S. Burroughs, and Brion Gysin.
The master bassist, producer & mixer Bill Laswell (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_Laswell) has used Burroughs speech samples in his music.
Laswell has been keen on to Burroughs' stuff and imported the verse destroy all rational thought to music too.
I think the verse should not be taken too seriously, but it's an evocative phrase in general. Contrary to all the stress and despatch of the modern western world.

Afraid mines footy related, meaning They'll always let you down. From a West Bromwich Albion fanzine
Boo at will. I dont care 8)

Mine is a line from Miserable Lie by The Smiths. It's always tickled me.

the mk vii under where my avatar is supposed to be relates to the version of internet personas. its like Mark Seven. but it has a double meaning as it also relates to my original forum accounts called mod killer. which in turn had a double meaning as it could relate to a moderator on a forum or a hair drier riding bloke in a suit.
maybe we should have a thread here that relates to a couch where we can lie down and discuss all our disturbing issues

Riiiight... :o
Always up for a new thread, but if I had to lie on a couch and talk about my disturbing issues, we'd be here all week... ;)

Best I book a few weeks too !
And I like Heno's idea of the board as a sofa too - so who's turn to make the tea is it?
Obviously my signature is a riff on the **** Texas album but with a bit of savvy and thought it's amazing what anyone can get out of a tiny bit of garden. I save myself a good amount of ££££'s each year growing the staple veg/salad/fruit and the odd indulgent luxury.
