Some kind words from an american member of this Dvd forum, about the "underrated band" NMA ;):

"My vote for underrated band would be New Model Army. For those that aren't familiar, they formed in the early 80's, and I believe are still going. I would describe them as a cross between Joy Division and Bob Dylan. What I like is that their rocking songs completely kick a$$, but singer Justin Sullivan can also perform the most aching, poignant songs with just his acoustic guitar. His lyrics are really profound, his voice is strong, and he's got an awesome ear for melody and songwriting. I"ve seen them live 3 times, and they just have such a stong vision and spirit. Although they have little in common musically, I would almost say his vibe is close to that of Bob Marley----tough and sharp, but with a tempering of warmth, sadness and humility. Powerful stuff."

I agree with a lot of it but I hear no similarities to Joy Division at all.

I think that both NMA and JD are quite bass-driven.... :(
