... bloody hell, it's coming back! No joke, David Lynch is directing nine new episode, to be released next year!
:o
I utterly loved this show, watch the DVD's all the time... any of you lot into the wonderful world of TP? Can't believe it's been over 20 years since the TV show finished and we got one of the most surreal / scary movies of all time in 'Fire Walk With Me'...
My fave shows of all time are TP, BREAKING BAD and FIREFLY (the order of which changes daily, dependant on my mood) but this news is making me buzz like a wasp in a bottle.

Never watched it when it was on the first time, but was always told how great it was. I just watched that bit you posted and am quite sure I won't be trying to catch up on it.
-
You couldn't have picked a better clip to confuse the hell out out of anyone who never saw it 8)
Read about this and just hope it's faithful to the original and not revamped into some glossy Hollywood awfulness but seeing as David Lynch is involved there may be hope. Wonder if I'll understand it this time round ;D

Ha! :D Yeah, it wasn't ALL like that but it's a pretty mind-messing show, part 'strange soap opera', part genuinely hilarious comedy, part 'sexy-as-hell', part truly frightening. One of the few shows ever broadcast that is genuinely unique. If you like David Lynch's films like LOST HIGHWAY, WILD AT HEART and BLUE VELVET, I'd give it a go...

Can't wait !
Will have to get the box set out to refresh the weirdness !
:)

OK, first day at a new job, which I'm really liking so far... and my new Team Leaders name is Laura Palmer... ???
Don't want to rock the boat because she seems like a really nice person and someone with a good sense of humour... I'd love to bring it up as an ice-breaking kind of thing, but I'll bet she's heard it a million times before... probably wise to leave it a couple of months? Or should I say 'Where's Bob?' :D

If you'd just chant or whistle the main theme song near to her? ;)

I might be a bit scared that she'll say 'meanwhile' and then THIS...

If she does that don't hang about - Run Like Hell !!!!

Regarding Twin Peaks, have you asked where did the former worker disappear? ;D
It's so long time since I saw Twin Peaks TV series (24 years) I can't remember nearly nothing about it. The first part of the series was written in sort of mundane ideas but remember it went later on rather occult or whatever. ???
-
For the few people here who liked Twin Peaks....
That new series? It ain't happening, David Lynch has officially cancelled the whole thing.

Bugger.
>:(

Thought I'd reactivate this one because...
1 - since my last post, David Lynch is back on board and will be directing all the episodes (which might be as many as 30...)
2 - there is a new, very brief trailer online... here... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TEcQAgs9xJE
3 - I just bought the full box set of TP, seeing as I lent my last one to an old work mate who disappeared with it, and watching it all again, it's just so awesome.
The owls are not what they seem. :D
-
ooh ooh ooh !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D
Ridiculously exciting - even if it's not aring until 2017. And that theme tune .................
-
BUMP!
I know there are a few Peakies out there on this Forum... so this new sort-of trailer might make you want to wonder if the owls are, indeed, what they seem... :D
Roll on 2017! I've been waiting for these new episodes since the early 90's!

I never saw TP first time round. My mate says I should watch it; says it right up my street. The only nice thing my dumpster ex did for me was install a "special" firestick, so there's no excuse...
-
Deffo, Sheena. I rewatched the whole series last year. Be warned, I thought the first half hour of the first episode didn't stand up well, seemed kind of soapy and over-melodramatic... I wouldn't blame the uninitiated for turning off, but you need to adjust to the odd world of TP. Pretty sure you'll be hooked by the end of the first episode. It's a truly unique show...
-
Still holding my breath on this.
:)
-
BUMP...
So it's a little teaser with almost no new footage, but I thought I'd post it...
May can't come soon enough.

Only 18 days until the return of Twin Peaks (one day less if you're in the USA)...
Can't wait... to be honest I'm still disturbed by the last scene, even after 25 years, desperately hoping for closure! Spoilers...

How have I missed this?! :D Can this be good??? Too bad I'm at work right now!
-
Twin Peaks returns within the next 24 hours... :D
-
Just watched the feature length new episode. NO SPOILERS HERE!
Bloody loved it. Expectations met and exceeded. And that's with the weight of a quarter century of those same expectations. It blew me away, even better than I hoped it would be.
Be warned, it's a bit slow for the first hour and mainly relates to new characters that weren't in the original series. Reminded me a lot of Mulholland Drive or Lost Highway. Still creepy and oddly funny in places. I'm sure that these characters will have more resonance in future episodes.
The second hour... damn. Blew my tiny little mind. Every bit as weird as the last episode of the original series but with so much stuff relating to the original show and the previous hour. I can't say anything else without spoilers but hardcore TP fans will love it (not sure what newbies would make of it, though... ;) )
I genuinely think that this is one of the best things that David Lynch ever did... be interested to see what other TP fans thought of it... :D
-
Ok, haven't had a chance to watch it yet...but I'm getting more and more excited!
-
The next two episodes are also available via legal sources (in the UK anyway), just checked them out... truly nightmarish in places and oddly funny in others... and more 'old' characters are now returning... love the way that there are no cast credits at the start of every episode so it's a real surprise when they turn up. :D
Loving it so far...
-
I have seen the first 2 episodes .....mmmmmm...not sure how I feel about it.....was a bit slow to start.....I'm worried it might be weird for weird's sake though....I'll stick with it and see how it goes..
:-\

WW (does that also stand for Wonder Woman as well as Wessexy Witch?), be warned, episode three delves into truly Eraserhead levels of oddness... I mean proper mad shit. But there is a 'proper' storyline evolving, slowly but surely, and more old characters are showing up. Episode 4 is definately drifting into classic Peaks territory, my favourite episode so far. Stick with it. So much stuff going on, a lot of which I missed, this Empire review puts it better than I ever could...

Is anyone here still watching TP?
Personally, I'm loving it, up to episode 6 and it's way freakier than I was expecting! Proper mad shit that bears little relation to what went before. Yet little by little, it seems to be drifting back to the series that so many people loved in the 90's. More old characters showing up unexpectedly, not to mention some incredibly funny / sad / violent bits... Kyle Maclachlan is playing a blinder in his multiple roles.
Am I the only person on the NMA forum watching it? :-\
-
Well - no :D
Dunno why because I was quite excited about it coming out but I think it might be because I will have to try and find a stream for the old series before trying to understand the new one. Also from what I gather (although I have steered away from any full on reviews) it ain't that good. Be honest with me MR (taking off yer fanboy head for a moment) is it worth it?

My fanboy head in on good and proper. But I can appreciate why some people aren't that keen. It's SO different to the old series. It's proper full-on surreal and head-mashing, right from the off. Hardcore David Lynch. Remember that scene early on in the original series with Cooper and the backward talking dwarf fella? That's Coronation Street compared to the new series.
Look, there was a pretty-much stand-alone episode this week, no spoilers as it mostly doesn't refer to the previous 7 episodes, but it can be described like this...
Man shoots man.
Interdimensional tramps save man.
Nine Inch Nails perform a song for no reason whatsoever.
The first nuclear test ruptures the barriers between worlds, letting in forces of terrifying evil, as well as incomprehensible avatars of goodness.
Sooty tramps invade 1950s America, and pave the way for an invasive bug frog hybrid to possess a teenage girl.
and there were even odder moments in previous episodes... :o
But... it's so compelling (in my eyes anyway...) old characters keep showing up out of the blue, Kyle McLaughlin is playing three different characters (all of whom might be Special Agent Dale Cooper, somehow or other) and is great as all of them, many scenes seem to be irrelevant but have importance in later episodes... it's the most brain-twisting show I've ever seen. Probably 9 / 10 folks who watched it have probably given up by now, but the 1 / 10 are loving it.
Putting it simply, how did you feel about how weird the 'Fire Walk With Me' film was. Multiply that by 100. Still want to watch? ;)
Thank God I don't smoke weed anymore. If I still imbibed and watched this show I don't think I'd recover.

Yup, I guess I am...
Shame, it's just awesome right now, seeing as the various storylines are really coming together... can't blame folks for giving up on it though, it's been an insane and often incomprehensible ride so far, seeing as stuff like this keeps happening (be warned, some gruesome content)...
