It would appear this is very much a fluid situation :) No firm decisions made, so........
What's your wishlist for the gig you're going to? For me, at Nottingham it's Tom Moth on Harp and whatever musicians make Qasr El Nil Bridge possible.
Who know's, one of us out there might get their wish granted just like Cinderella ;D
-
What about Gigabyte Wars with the brass section
-
I would think there is a good chance Ed Johnson turns up. Lets hope so. Always nice to see him.
-
Stuart Morrow and Moose?! 8)
-
Qasr El Nil Bridge, Brave New World II, a dualling banjo's type intro between Marshall and Ed to Vagabonds, Mark Feltham guesting on Ballad and loads of surprises to blow us all away.
-
I agree...Mark Feltham. We might get to finally hear Mixam live! :)

Ooh! How cool would that be? :)

Totally agree, which leads nicely to:
a dualling banjo's type intro between Marshall and Ed to Vagabonds
Genius :) Really wanna hear that now.

My guess would be that the gigs will be more about additional instruments live on stage rather than old members turning up but then the early albums are having a bit of a dust off so maybe.

Has that one never been played live? Then yeah - damn fine reason for Mr Feltham to turn up too :)
-
Whatever it takes to have Quas El Nil Bridge played live, my very fave song on BDAW...
A sort of 'classic NMA lineup' thing would be cool (whatever a classic line up means, they're all great), sort of playing a couple of songs then passing instruments over to their replacements... it'd be nice.
personally, I'd love to see certain NMA tracks performed with a whole orchestra, but I suspect the budget won't stretch to that... not to mention the available space on stage... ;)
And, yes, I know I whine on about this like the sad little man that I am every time the lads tour, but please, NO SPOILERS in your headlines when you discuss the gigs before the rest of us have seen them! IE, 'Can't believe Ed showed up' or whatever... :-X
I am truly giddy with excitement about Nottingham...

P'raps we need an Albert Hall gig :) With a dress code of Black Tie & Tiaras, mind you then we'd never recognise anybody else.
I do kinda get the "Classic" line up thing and I'd love to see Mr Morrow do a few songs sometime but I can't help feeling that what with the 30th gigs and then the film that looking back is not really on the agenda but who knows because (quite rightly) they'll do whatever the hell they like and bugger the lot of us ;D
With you on Spoilers Ray - we're clever enough not to go near a thread like "London Last Night", it's the sneaky hidden bombs in other threads that get ya'. As for Nottingham - think it's gonna be a long 6 1/2 weeks from now till the 13th :(
Cos' I started the thread I'm gonna harp on about the harp :D Was bored and daydreaming at work today and decided that hearing Nothing Touches just with JS & Harp would be awesome.
-
Albert Hall - that would be fine in 2030
We will be there with the help of the ambulance service to enjoy the one and only highlight of the year
and the band sits on a sofa, doing some Monty Python solo ;D
-
Hugh Cornwall for one of the German dates apparently. Must be a Cornish relative adding a bit of a Jethro mix ;)
-
What about Vagabonds with bagpipes lol
-
OK, a bit leftfield and never gonna happen, but my vote is Bryan Corbett for his flugelhorn solo at 2min57s in Sun On water, absolutely dripping with introspective melancholy. One of the two greatest flugelhorn solos! (The other being Paul Hughes in "Orange Juice Concerto" mimed hear by the slightly more screen friendly Tara Fitzgerald: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C8uoY9e5YVY )

Oh, one of my fave scenes from one of my fave movies... and Ms Fitzgerald? :-*
-
See, that's what makes this place cool - we've got to bagpipes and flugelhorn solos :o
I was wondering if you could get instruments from every continent involved - then we could travel the world in just a few hours :) - but for Australia all I can come up with is a Didgeridoo and I have no idea if one of those (or a sample) has ever been used and as for Antarctica well unless there's a whalebone flute or a penguin skin drum it would seem to be bit of a hopeless cause. Still, people here never cease to amaze me with what they know so maybe someone will pop up with a mad bit of information.
What about Bill Bailey on Theremin - he could help Dean out with the weird wiggly noises :)
... and Ms Fitzgerald? :-*
Ah ha! One deduces the reason your laptop got so bashed ;D

True, but we all Love a Hopeless Cause....
See what I did there?!

Oy! My devotion to Ms Fitzgerald is beautiful and pure... I'm sure she didn't actually mean that restraining order... :(
Back to the original point... a six-piece string section wouldn't go amiss...

Looking forward to two dates with @officialnma in London & Nottingham on Friday 12th & Saturday 13th December.
-
Excellent news Anna Thanks for sharing I'm already very excited about visiting Nottingham
-
Glad to see Mr AJ is joining these gigs... :D
-
Excellent ! I've not been to an NMA gig where Ed has played as yet. Looking forward to Vagabonds already ! They must do it surely. Marshall could have a rest during the intro for a change, or maybe they could do a call and response duel type of thing :D
-
Funnily enough, I had a day off and went to Chester and once again, Mr AJ was busking... damn, he always draws a crowd of new and old admirers... what a talent.
-
I heard Ed, mark F, Ricky Warwick and Nelson ....
