Title: Anyone else get post-tour blues?
Post by: Amandistan on November 12, 2014, 07:22:58 PM
So I did 21 gigs. 15 NMA, 2 JS solo and 4 Justin and Dean. I spent over a month in Europe doing so. It was awesome and a bit surreal. Now, it's all over. I feel as if I have come down from a massive drug high.
I think these gigs are just as addictive as drugs. I am very tempted to spend even more money to do it all again.

Now, it's just work and loneliness.
Does any else experience this?

I've never been that lucky Think i would need to win the lottery.
You should count yourself extremely lucky Amanda. I suppose with every high there is always a come down. I'm happy to make one or two nma gigs a year, Nottingham will be my first since Glasgow last November.

I & Minna get always a "come down" after every gig. It lasts often a week or two. Sometimes longer. It's a bit drop down with this lovely hobby and devotion.

21 gigs, that's amazing. Wished we could be able to do the same some day. Actually wish it could be full time.

I've done whole tours with my other band and suffer big time when its all over
For those few weeks you are totally absorbed in the band and everything revolves around the nights gig
I found it really depressing going back to work and so called normality

Haven't got the funds to do it now and have to say with fewer gigs it's not do bad!

The most I've done is three consecutive nights a couple of times now, more often two shows Always great doing a run of gigs. Looking forward to doing London and nottingham with Neily, jsyirish and belza. Will miss the dam this year, would like to do the three continental xmas shows next year. Always a come down afterwards, I think it's the intensity of the gigs and of the camaraderie between the family

If ever you can, do the whole tours. It was my second time but the last was only 11 dates.   The only way I can afford it is to work two nearly full-time jobs. People do tend to think it's insane but they are probably right. You have to be slightly mad to do it.

But didn't you miss the best gig of the whole tour in Beverungen and the 2nd best in Heerlen? :p

Though Celle and Coesfield were very good. As was the entire Greek tour.
