As you go through the front door of Spanky Van Dykes you will notice the bar on the left hand side of the pub. Please DO NOT purchase your Ale from this bar. Cross the room, to the right, up the stairs there is a bar upstairs where the NMA after show gathering is happening. Please purchase your booze from this bar.
The reason, - the organiser who puts the event on for us for free in his own time has to pay a £100 deposit to secure the room and bar staff. If the upstairs room bar takes over £800, the organiser gets his deposit refunded. We just managed to break the barrier last year. I fully intend to do my bit again this year by helping out and downing a few. ;)
If you have not been before, exit Rock City, turn left, Spanky Van Dykes is the purple pub on the corner, you can't miss it

Sounds excellent shush. I hope to spend a couple of hours there as i don't intend drinking very much before or during the gig.

None of my mates get NMA so coming to the gig and to this on my own. Not sure how that's going to work (though it'll be fine at the gig)...
-
I & my wife wish you all nice concerts and after parties from here 3000km's distance.
Think we'll just do some logging whole weekend and take some brew. And listen to Justin & Friends, Big Guitars in Little Europe and BWAB that John kindly sent to us. We're happy about the purchase. Cheers! :)

Seems to be a fair few of us going on our own - sure will be cool. Oh and no need for worrying about it cos last few weeks I been doing more than enough of that for every bugger in the house tomorrow night ;D

What a lovely thing to post - love to you and your wife and one of those beers tomorrow night will be raised in your direction. Kippis :) :-* Hope google translate got that right !

Ha! Last time I was in Glasgow, ALL my given change (notes) was in Scottish money, which is sometimes not accepted in England... :o ;) ;D
Seems like there's a big meet tomorrow at 5pm between us regular Forum folk... :o
-
Yes we need to be awkward and have 3 different types of bank notes
See you all later

"Kippis" from here, Anna. :)
We could imagine the feeling you're having now.
:) :)

A massive thanks to everyone at the after show party. 1st class music and excellent company. Wow i even got up and danced lol
-
Really pleased with the After Show do again. Thanks all for coming and apologies to anyone who queued or didn't get in at all.
-
Thanks for putting it on. Guessing the bar took enough for you to get your deposit back :)
-
LCG, what a cracking good night! Not a bad tune played!
perhaps NMA should employ you instead of a support band? ;)
Well done, mate.
-
Thanks Lawrence, top night once again. Appreciate the time and effort you go to in order to put on such a cracking night for us all.
Cheers
jc

Ditto to that.
Yet again, a brilliant end to a brilliant day c/o LCG :)

Thanks to everyone involved in putting this on. The gig was superb and it needed something to carry the night on and this certainly delivered. An excellent mix of music played in a really friendly atmosphere. All around the place you could see huge grins and people having a great time. Was gutted when it came to an end. Judging by the amount of Red Stripe cans strewn around the place I would hope you made your £800 target at the bar and got your deposit back.

You and jsyirish ended it half an hour early belza, I was still there when they chucked us all out at 2am! :-D
Blinding night, expertly crafted punk and goth disco from Lawrence (cheers buddy) I had the biggest grin of all but a f@cking sore throat the following morning. Even umpteen cans of Red Stripe chant soothed it!
Had vowed not to do rock city again next year cos I ain't a big fan of the place tbh but that after show has changed all that for me, practically worth travelling just for the après gig entertainment, best disco I've been to in years. And Yiu even played Gaz Brookfield fella...
Great to see so many friends and familiar faces, who else has a following like NMA? You're a fab bunch and good to travel with Belza, Dazza and Neily again, thanks for putting up with me again!

That's nice to read!
Thanks for coming and helping it be such a top night.
