Declaimer: Just for fun
If you could create your own NMA cover tribute album, What artists would you use? What would the track list be? Please use as much genre diversity as you wish. And feel completely free to take the piss out of my more modern indie leaning choices. ;)
This would be my NMA tribute cover compilation album!
Frank Turner - 225
Fleet Foxes - Into the Wind
Manic Street Preachers Or just JDB s solo - These Words
Decemberists- 7 times
The National (my 2nd fave band) Aimless Desire.
Bright Eyes - Dawn
Rufus Wainwright - God save me (Just to completely shock the more metal/goth NMA fans)
Tori Amos - Vengeance (Blasphemous to some fans)
Amy Whinehouse - Lullaby (shut up, she was amazing even if mainstream)
System of a Down - No pain
Rage Against the Machine - Another imperial Day
Massive Attack - Drummy B (Would be the best NMA remix ever!)
Leonard Cohen - Poison Street
Flogging Molly - Knife
Patrick Wolf -Headlights
Calexico- Blood sports (there a sort of indie-folkish band with Mexican influences and horns)
Jeff Buckley- Marry the sea (yeah, i know, he is dead)

OH YES!!! I'll jump on THAT bandwagon! It'd be awesome, especially auf Deutsch ;D
I think the Aussie singer-songwriter Kate Miller-Heidke would be a great choice for some of the more reflective, laid-back songs. In fact I can really hear her doing Aimless Desire. That'd be gorgeous.
I'd love to hear Metallica cover Vagabonds, actually!
