I'd be really interested knowing which album sold how many copies... ???
Not because of any interest in how much money the band are making (which, obviously, is none of mine or any one elses business...) but after all the ebbs and flows in the history of NMA, I'd be interested to know how publicity (or lack of it) affected their sales in comparison to what other acts were shifting at the time...
And, no, this isn't some University project or something... at my age? ;D
To the NMA inner circle... no probs if you don't want to divulge that info. Just silly curiosity... :-\

doesn't matter ray
sold, copied, bootlegged
we'll never be big enough for some people
-
Means nothing at all in the grand scheme of things but I am curious too.
How to compare that to another yardstick is another question though. But it would be 8) to have some sort of rough guideline to view against.

Just found this one

NMA We Love the World = Audio CD (27. Juni 2014)
Anzahl Disks/Tonträger: 2

That`s the live 161203 - does this one count? Do NMA get one pound of one of this selling?

Something tells me that bands don't make that much from album sales in these times.
There were illegal downloads available of BWAB before it was even released. ::)
It doesn't matter much to me but I do hope that they can make a decent living from the music.

Probably easiest to just use The Beatles ;)

I'm thinking that whilst NMA might not have huge records sales in, say, the 90's, they have an ongoing appeal and are constantly dragging in new fans... I see plenty of young 'uns at the gigs nowadays, so those same folks must be investigating the older stuff and hopefully buying (and not illegally downloading) those earlier albums, which must impact sales figures...
NMA must have sold a couple of million by this point, surely? Hopefully more... :-\

like seriously
can everyone listen please
record sales mean nothing
it is how many times a fan takes out a song and listens to it on purpose. on their time, without or without their friends, just has to listen to a certain song that speaks to them. like what did the beatles ever do for anyone? changed their mind? made feel like they belonged. or robbed them of their opinion in the face of being shunned for not being part of the herd. not some pop bullshit that everyone has to listen because of the persistent broadcast of the corporations crap.
on pure love and connecting with people who want to listen and express an opinion
no band is bigger than nma
well, maybe dead kennedys would give them a run for their money
maybe stza entertainment inc.
and bowie

Er, I think that record sales might mean something to the people who benefit from the royalties...
I think you're missing the point, mate... I'm talking about how NMA are judged by music industry standards (yes, SALES) and how it might or might not have any indication on their visibility / 'relevance' to the wider public..?
-
sure ray, i'm missing the point mate
fairly sure nearly everyone worries about the royalties. everyone has bills to pay.
theres a difference between being no good for the record company and being no good for the country

Or they could have discovered the newer albums. As someone who is a younger in newer fan, I can say that I was hooked with the newer albums, Then investigated new material. I had nobody that I knew to introduce me to the band. I found it on one of the many music blogs that I read or possible this U.K music magazine I used to buy.

Booklet in the cd "New Model Army the collection" (2004):
"Thunder and consolation, a Top 20 album in Britain, sold over 250 000 in Germany."
In an old issue of the french magazine Best the band is saying the "Impurity" sold over 160 000 in Germany (and a little bit more than 6 000 in France..)
-
They've sold me quite a few, that's for sure.
