Title: UK Solar Eclipse, 20/03/15...
Post by: Master Ray on March 19, 2015, 09:12:34 PM
.. anyone gonna bother with it?

I'm not working tomorrow, so I could get up early to see it... then again, its my day off so I might just sleep in and miss, ahem, it all going 'a bit dark'...

Anyone else got an opinion on it?

It barely even went "a bit dark" in the Heathrow area. Total cloud cover, so saw nothing of the sun, but the percentage of the sun left unobscured by the moon was more than ample to maintain daylight. The light just dimmed a tiny bit.

Totally missed the whole thing ! I didn't even realise it was going to be happening  ;D Can't imagine where my head has been for the last week  :D

I just thought it was a grey dull morning  :-[

Was ok.
I took the nursery children for an unexpected run around the playground so I could see it !
Most of them noticed it got darker and complained it was cold.

So, I woke up early, thought I'd check out this Solar Eclipse thing that the media is going crazy over... even made the effort to walk over to the huge (and rather pretty) graveyard nearby so I had open skies and somewhere nice to watch it...

The light went slightly dimmer.  Then got normal again.

Yup, that was worth getting out of bed for.   ::)

What the heck, grabbed a bacon sandwich from a local cafĂ©, then back home for a snooze on the sofa.  Both the sandwich and the snooze were far more exciting than the Eclipse.

Yeeeeeeeeeeah, didn't see a thing. Thick cloud cover here, probably didn't even get any darker. Shame. I did really enjoy the last one!
