Another hate crime by a white supremacists male, idiot, prick.
He sits in a church and then massacres 9 people simply for being black. He tells a women that he is sparing her life to tell the world what happened.
He was bought a gun for his birthday. He openly discussed this yet people took it as a joke.
For **** safe what is wrong with America?
Christ, wouldn't you think by now they would have changed the 2nd amendment so that it does not give just anyone the right to own a gun. Something that is made to kill
It's not 1776 any more. We are not trying to over throw British Rule anymore. The law is outdated.
The media is struggling with calling it what it is. It's a hate crime and it is terrorism.
This does not happen in any other advanced nation. It's sickening.
They don't want to address the issue that racism is alive and well in America.
-
I think its deeply ingrained in the culture, a lot of people are still stuck with a civil war slave trade attitude. I seen the confederate flag was a major issue. Putting the race issue to one side the pro gun lobby has way too power, it's time for proper gun controls. I'm glad that the uk has some of the strictest guns in the world.
Stop the killing!

It truly amazes me that people are allowed to buy heavy weaponry over the counter.... there is no true sane argument for this.
I osted this on the RIP thread and it puts it better than I ever could... from my favourite comedian Jim Jeffries...

Many a true word spoken in jest...

The NRA just blamed the pastor of the church where it happened. simply because he actually advocated gun control
The most disgusting quote ever! >:(
“And he voted against concealed-carry. Eight of his church members who might be alive if he had expressly allowed members to carry handguns in church are dead. Innocent people died because of his position on a political issue.”
I won't be surprised if another civil war breaks out.
How does one withdraw their citizenship? :(
-
Sadly it only takes one nutter with a gun to make a big statement
-
... and now a black man, raging with race issues, kills some white folks, and live on TV no less... :'(
-
The gun lobby has far too much power, when the president is powerless to change things.
I know the uk has some of the strictest gun controls in the world but for me its the right thing, we have had very few incidents after Dunblane thank fck
-
it's time for proper gun controls.
Yea, I really agree. Proper gun controls everywhere and not just the States.
-
an all out ban would be fine with me...any objections?
-
I was brought up to respect a gun. pheasant, game and that. when in season and only then. of course we would eat what was shot.
-
They have recently banned air weapons here in Scotland, I pretty sure it isn't a uk wide law after a young boy got killed a few years ago
-
Personally....and I dont own one, guns are ok with sensible people. The problem is most people aren't sensible and are emotive. That said Im not convinced that open as an option to all is a good idea. Its a weapon for hunters or a weapon for killers

A gun is a tool for a hunter.

Can't remember if I've said this before but...
If you wanna fire big guns, join the fuckin' army...
???
-
The problem is one gun breeds another gun possibly an even bigger gun , lets face it if most of your neighbours have guns your going to want/need one to protect yourself
-
Why won't America ever learn?
Because America doesn't seem to want to does it?
-
Well, that's another massacre... :-\
-
Obama said it all really didn't he..................
-
Obama said it all really didn't he..................
Be even nicer if he actually did something about it.
-
Sadly he can't. I believe congress is conservative. They just veto everything.
-
I just do not understand the utter lunacy of the gun control debate. It's proper Alice In Wonderland territory.
The NRA genuinely seem to believe that every meeting, whether it be a sit-down with friends, a trip to the cinema or an intelligent college debate should be conducted with everyone having a great big fuckin' GUN on their hip. What is this, the Star Wars cantina, where we should all be worried in case Han or Greedo shoots first? (OK, we all know that Han shoots first, but that's a geekier debate...)
It's all gone doo-lally when Piers bloody Morgan speaks some of the best sense on an issue...
-
The saddest part is it comes as no surprise that its happened again, were starting to become immune to it all. The gun lobby will hold on to every last till the bitter end. A complete change of culture is needed. Fck its impossible for me to get my head around it all, I just can't imagine walking in to a shop and be able to buy a killing machine capable of killing 100s of people in a minute or less.
-
These news are so sad. I can't read or listen them at all nowadays.
-
It's complicated. Okay, I am American so get the culture but don't care for it.
It's stupid. It goes back to 1776 when the constitution was written. They wrote the 2nd amendment as the "Right to Bear Arms." but you did not have guns that could fire several rounds at once. It was there more or less so that the people can over throw a tyrant.
It's nearly impossible to change these amendments for some stupid reason. It was a fight to change it to allow women to vote. Many Americans are also brain washed to believe that they need guns for protection. They can't escape from this mind set.
These are people who have never traveled and only know the American way of life. It's impossible to convince them that we need gun control badly. They scapegoat mental illness and say the mental health industry needs fixing.
Sadly it's hopeless.

Completely agree, so why doesn't Obama do something about it apart from drone on about it in interviews?
-
Can't remember if I've posted this before, but Piers Morgan vs Alex Jones..?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_XZvMwcluEg
As I've said before, don't like Mr Morgan much but Mr Jones..? Evil f-ing nutter... this is 15 minutes of insanity.
-

Because as Amanda has already explained here:
Sadly he can't. I believe congress is conservative. They just veto everything.
He can't. Show me one politician in America who could push through gun control. The American people do not appear able to relinquish control of their right to bear arms. The most a politician can do is give a stark presentation of the facts and keep their fingers crossed.
Sad.
Yes MR - Alex Jones truly is something else no?

This and let me add also as an American People from other countries just don't seem to understand how big and how powerful the NRA Gun lobby is in this country. They give MILLIONS to Political Parties and canidates. Plus you have to add The Gun Manufactures themselves These companies some are as old as America itself and weather It is Remington, Colt, Winchester, Smith & Wesson ( They named Movies after these brands) they are what every solder or Cowboy or Police had . These are MAJOR MILITARY CONTRACTORS ( I put those letters in Capitals To drive home a point)
Eisenhower way back warned of the Military Industrial Complex well it is up and running very well here understand that and then you will understand what Obama has to go thru besides being a Lame duck President so Congress which is now Majority Republican in both the house and Senate don't like him anyway and Never did are not going to do anything. One of That Party biggest contributors is the NRA. they are not going to bite the hand that feeds them. 8)

It is not a safe country in my Opinion. I am not even surprised anymore by news of the gun massacres. Saddened but it never shocks me. It's what? the 24th of the year?
it's nearly always white males. Not to sound racist or sexist but that just seems to be who commits most of these crimes .

Once my friend met some American soldier at a cruiser ship here. (We have those big and heavy ferrys cruising at the sea you know. Huge capitalist boats.) Well, this soldier boy was shocked to hear no one have guns here and are not afraid at the streets (apart the hunters at the countryside). But he proudly stated how many guns he owns and how important they are. The gap with his reality he lives in and our local realm was huge.
