So... I had a bunch of blood tests done recently, as I think I've mentioned, got informed of the results over the phone, mostly fine but 'the doctor wants to speak to me' about my celiac results... well, those are seven words you're not eager to hear, eh?
Been looking into it and it's not a serious thing, far more uncomfortable than life-threatening, but I was wondering if any of you here have, or know anyone who has, this condition? :(
Could have been worse. It could have been diabetes, where you eat a chocolate bar and your foot falls off... ;)

Sorry to hear that your unwell ray but you have a good attitude it could be a lot worse. I don't know anything about it, I guess your going to have to revise your diet which is probably easier said than done

Sorry to hear that. luckily there are many gluten free foods that are very good. they come close to food with gluten.
I had a gluten free pizza and it was amazing.
Again, you are right it's better than diabetes. However gluten intolerance is a pain in the arse as well.

Mate, I feel fine! I was far more worried about having a dairy intolerance... to give up cheese would break my heart!

And un-clog it. Love a bit of cheese myself , but it ain't health food. Stick it on toast to see all the fat swim around on top. :(

I don't but a friend really does - if it turns out you have stuff to consider then give me a shout. Sure I will be able to glean a few pointers for ya'

Wouldn't that depend on what you'd been eating with it ? ;D ;D

You wouldn't think red sauce would react like that to a hot needle ???

So, I started this thread... thought I'd update it with my current health condition (because I'm sure you're all desperately losing sleep over it... ::) )
No coeliac disease, no gluten intolerance, just a probable wheat intolerance that a forthcoming meet with a dietician will sort out. I can live with that.
:D

ok
i hate to burst your bubble mate
coeliac disease is manageable. it is all about gluten in any form that causes irritation. think of it as an allergic reaction. you consume it - you suffer.
an intolerance is a whole lot more difficult to manage. and something as widely used as wheat really does start to get interesting. its everywhere, and in so many places you don't expect. you might also find that oats and barely could cause problems too.
best thing; get a diary. eliminate everything from your diet week one and go with the basic items that are wheat free. then start to add in other items over time and take note of your physical and mental reactions. find something that disturbs the force then eliminate it. and then continue until you have a full range of products that you can safely consume.
you also need to understand that intolerance reactions in your system drive your toxic levels up. this means you need to think about the level of histamine in your system. the more toxic your system then the more likely you will experience things like water retention, swelling of the extremities, sniffling, mild headaches, low motivation, etc etc etc.

Cheers, mate, I think the dietician will cover that.
Every other blood test was fine, which is astonishing considering how little care I've taken of my body over the years... a few lifestyle changes are probably long overdue. And let's face it, there are people with serious diseases who would happily exchange my problems for theirs...
