Hi all,
after years enjoying NMA gigs I started to photograph them. I was in Amsterdam two days ago and did some photos of the gig.
Just click on the picture, go to my facebokk photo section an you'll find the Melkweg picture album. (There is some older stuff too.)

Hope it is ok to share on Facebook, otherway I can share in another way too! ;)
Hope you enjoy!

In the next few days I'll permanently add pictures, I did almost 1800 of them.
A lot of crap, it's a challenge, so I have to sort out and develop the better ones.

Same old shit for almost twenty years. Used to be a great band, but just keeps rolling along doing a greatest hits gig.
Justin Sullivan is a legend, the rest are nothing.
-
Lol master bates ( dare I say very apt ) . Where to start, well nma proudly don't have any hits , they played songs from nearly every album some more obscure than others and they probably did play a couple of songs everyone wanted most notably green and gray , I don't know what your expectations are. As for the same old shit remark Marshall and Ceri have only been in the band a few years so that surely invalidates your opinion. As for the rest of the band are nothing again totally untrue Marshall is a brilliant guitarist who really rocks , Ceri is the best bass player and more in any band easily Imo up there with Stuart and again he has plenty of youthful energy. Michael is one of best drummers around and again up there with Rob. Deans keyboard and guitar skills are also excellent. Yes Justin is a legend but unlike so many other front men he gives his all every single gig , I've never seen someone so passionate and committed on stage.
If that's your opinion of the band fair enough but why spend your money going to see them if you did, why take time out and come here and post your opinion, your obviously looking for a reaction, well I'm not gonna give you one just my balanced if biased opinion.
So lets ask you something then, name other band that's been around a similar time who are better
-
Wow master bates. This was it worth to be the 10th post in what? 8 years membership? :o
Great!
-
Thanks for the awesome picture pixiac , I got somewhat side tracked

Thxs for sharing great pics thxs :)

Well, after the opening three words, 'same old shit'... I tuned out.
If you really think the small number of 'classic' NMA tracks (that word used VERY loosely...) is indicative of a set that was loaded heavily in favour of more recent material that has taken NMA's sound and twisted and turned it into something so exciting and new and DIFFERENT, then you've not really been paying attention.
This incarnation of NMA is equally as exciting as anything they've done previously. The newer stuff gets every bit as frenzied a reaction as the older.
Be interested to hear some extended rationale behind your blunt statement... unless three little sentences is all you have to offer? In which case, thanks for that, pal, it's taken on board and goodnight.

Welcome to the forum pixiac. Great pics, ;)
Shame your first topic has been derailed by a daft ill-informed comment. >:(
-
Thank you for your nice comments and the welcome!
Unfortunatelly as you can see in my first post the forum style isn't optimised for showing pics, so I'll try to implement some of them by thumbnail now.
What an impressive Moment as Justin recited Another Imperial Day as a spoken solo performance!
The whole audience seemed electrified!

These are very nice photos, pixiac. Sharp images where you've catch up a familiar moment at a right time. Also, the back light fits so well there.
Welcome to the board.
-
Pixiac, your pictures are truly summing up the spirit of what the NMA live experience is all about. You are truly gifted, loving 'em!
Should have said this earlier but I got side-tracked by someone hi-jacking this thread with a dull point... apologies. >:(
Keep them coming!
-
Thank you all for such a nice friendly welcome!
It's a pleasure to be here and it was a pleasure to feel that spirit inside the pit! All the people were so careful!
Looking forward to the next gigs and hope we'll meet eachother in real life there!
Most impressive moments are from inside the pit, so I'll try to do much more of them next time!

Very nice pix. thumbs up here
-
Frank, if you are managing to take pictures of this quality from inside the pit, that that is very impressive. You must be using some top equipment, something better than a smart-phone camera. Love the way the bright colours on the stage mix with the stage smoke, very atmospheric.
Thankfully, you do not need to be a Facebook user to see all the images on your link also :)
-
Thank you! Well I shot the photos by two DSLR's, it would be too hectic to switch lenses. Both are cameras with quite good high ISO and the lenses are fast with wide-aperture, otherway you can go home ... :)
The problem is to get a photo pass for gigs, when you don't shoot for a photo agency. A lot of mails before the date and always not really sure, if staff is right informed ...
So it was on the razor-edge in Amsterdam too, to enter with the photo stuff.
