Hi, i'm Lee from Leicester. i dont know what the social convention is here but I've just joined the forum and wanted to say hello. I've been a fan of the band since about '87 and though i had a break from gigs in the mid 90's early 00's (while i was living as a traveller) I've seen the band live about 13 or 14 times. couldnt name a fave song or album (too many) but "Between Dog and Wolf" and "Between Blood and Wine" are pretty much being looped constantly at the minute. Looking forward to meetimg you all online.
always,
Lee 8)

yes ive been on there for a while; the sisters and motorhead being the only bands that rival NMA for my affections. all three on the same bill would have been nice, before we lost Lemmy.
and thank you all for your warm welcomes.

Welcome on the board, Eastmidswhizzkid.
Eh, may we call you just the Easter or Whizzer? :)
Nice to have new folks here.

I also love The Sisters (did you catch them last October?) and Motorhead. Is the Heartland Forum worth checking out? I love to communicate with like-minded folks. Is it via the official w/site?
Hmmm, interesting concept to ponder... if those great bands played on the same bill, what do you think the running order would be, in view of their relative and passionate fan bases and their commercial visibility to a general audience...? :o

Yes, i saw the sisters at rock city in october -great as always and his voice sounded really strong for the first time in ages.
I'd say that the Heartland Forum is worth a visit. there's a lot of concert recordings shared on there for download, as well as a firendly bunch of people. access is independent of the official site here (https://www.myheartland.co.uk/).
the running order question is a good one, could start fights! lol

Which part of Leicester are you in!
It's my hone town but I haven't lived there for years but depending on your age we probably frequented the same places!
-
i live up by the general hospital now but grew up on catherine street. i'm a bit younger than you at 45 but depending when you left leicester we probably went to the same places at some point. the fan club maybe in the late 80's? or sector 5? helsinkis? the centrebar? and always just up the road to rock city of course. :)
-
Have certainly visited all of those places.

Can't say that I know Leicester that well It's a big place, I know the last plant pub, Abbey park and St Margaret's bus station. The X7 bus takes me there from Northampton. They used to have a record fair in the Methodist rooms, but I think that has gone now. The new food market is brilliant.
There is a little noodle bar on Cheapside. Always go there. Box of noodles, 4 Quid, Job done. Next to the Walkers pie shop
