Title: Phil Jupitus
Post by: JohnnyM on February 18, 2016, 06:43:27 PM
Has anyone ever seen Phil Jupitus at a NMA gig? He's a bit of a professional talking head for documentaries  - and I must admit to not being the biggest fan of his tv work - but am I doing him a disservice? Is he actually a fan?

(its a shame the NMA doc makers didn't get Stuart Pearce on as he's been spotted at a few Army gig at Rock City over the years)

What about Russel Crowe, he has been spotted too.

Cheers

... and that bloke off of Coronation Street who now makes cheese...

Mr Jupitas has or had a show on Radio6, so he obviously likes his music and seems quite interested in NMA...

I would say Phil Jupitus could still regard himself as a fan if he has never been to an NMA gig. Gigs are not for everyone, the sound of the music and what it does for you is just as important in your front room or car, or where ever.

I have never been to a Sex Pistols gig, but would class myself as a Pistols fan.

Jupitus is/was a performance poet from the era where Joolz, Attila and others became well known. I would be surprised if he's never seen NMA live. He's had Joolz on his show in the past, iirc.

As for his interest in music generally - he's performed as frontman of The Blockheads, if that's any indicator.

I stand corrected and Phil Jupitus is clearly an appropriate person to talk on the NMA vid.

Now if only he would sort out his comedy/panel show act (I get a sinking feeling when I realise he's on the QI panel...)

;)

Phil has to pay them bills (accidental poetry lol) a blockhead in the hand is worth two buzzcocks in the bush. QI - quite irritating  ?
