Title: Storm "Katie"
Post by: Coumarin on March 28, 2016, 01:32:12 PM
Well

I made plans for today, something called Katie appeared during the night. My Colleague Kate had some nasty messages. My Colleague Dave was also due to fly today to Bangkok. I heard that some flights were cancelled from Gatwick. I think and assume his was Heathrow.

QEII bridge was closed too, but that's the other side of the M25

It was a rough night, and the sun is shining now as if nothing happened!

Rained a lot in the East Mids last night, very heavy. Went for our traditional bank holiday walk, just got back after being caught by the rain. Traditional English bank holiday weather  :)

The night was awful. Thought we might need to move downstairs.

Yes Pol, I guess it was the jet stream messing around again.

She should have been your company! ;)

Storm Katie has been brewing for quite a few months for me as my daughters name is Katie and recently her temperament has been getting more volatile.  She was 11 on the day of the actual storm and it was definitely her party and she'd act up if she wanted, and she did with great effect.  I can't wait until she's a teenager, honestly.

A friend of mine has three teenage daughters, aged 13 - 19.

He looks like a truly broken man...
