Post by: Coumarin on April 02, 2016, 05:21:44 PM
I would have loved to be a train driver. Every boys dream. Sadly it wasn't to be..... im not capable of that. All that I have left is my nose.

Well its one thing you can still pick I guess. I have none. Never have. Just drifted along and made decisions as they needed to be made.

Actually, I did look into becoming a train driver, quite fancied it when I was made redundant from the NHS, also looked into other jobs in the railway industry... seems to be a well-paying number.  From what I can gather, being a train driver is a senior job that you will only be considered for if you've put in years in other jobs within the railway business.  An old mate of mine's Dad was a train driver and, damn, did he pull in a sweet paycheque, especially if he did a bit of overtime...  ;)

So, yeah, I would also love to be a train driver.   ;D

Train drivers earn a fortune, no wonder the tickets are so expensive

Every boys dream is to be in charge of a loco (not a train, that was a girls job) making sure it got to London on time.

Was never my dream, maybe a long distance lorry driver would have been cool with a big bundle of cassette tapes , cds were only new back then, I suppose it would have got as boring as hell after a while especially stuck in traffic. Maybe those Yorkie adverts were to blame lol
