For those of you that give the remotest shit about NMA being sucessful in the mainstream again the new album is a new entry at number 25, i dont normally take an interest in these things but have to admit it made me laugh this morning when i checked the charts out of interest and saw it sitting alongside all the other rancid, repugnant, bullshite thats generally being bought!

Agree with all you say there. Think the greatest measure of success for a non-mainstream band like this is the dedication it inspires in those that follow it.
That said, very happy for the band who deserve more recognition :)

More people other than me actually got off thier arses and went into town to buy this then .
Q
Do the copies bought straight from the NMA shop count ?
How do the chart compliers get this information from band own shops ?
Does someone phone up and say "Hi John, how many copies have you sold?" ?
mmmm.
???

If Taylor Swift checks the charts this week, Huddleston will be history and she'll be setting her sights at Justin.

Number 16 with the cds sales? legal donwloading? How does it work? how many cds (and/or vynils) have they sold for this first week in the UK?
I remember that "Between dog and wolf" was their best selling album since "The love of hopeless causes"...how many copies of "Between dog and wolf" have been sold in the UK, for example?
NMA's best sellings albums have all been released on EMI and Epic/Sony (from "No rest for the wicked" to "The love of hopeless causes" included)

the chart returns will have come from the shop via the record company with all the other advance sales; and they count towards the first week' sales, so well done everyone who forked out early for a copy. i ordered mine at the end of june i think when i was quite flush, and it dropped through my letterbox before the shops were open on the day after it's release, when i was utterly skint.

always and only number one in our hearts and minds. t
