Me and my daughter were down the front as we always are, you expect to be shoved as it's always rough, we usually have a good laugh and a dance, but this time my daughter had to get lifted out by security as some idiot man was literally pinning her to barrier and we couldn't move or dance as he refused to move his arms or to even step back,he told her she needed to move with the crowd ,but she was literally pinned to the barrier,he was really quite nasty to her, then after she got lifted out it ruined the gig for me as I was worrying about her. But after being reassured by security that my daughter was fine I stayed in my place as I refused to be pushed to the side by some idiot tosser who enjoyed ruining the night for a teenage girl, sorry for rant,he just pissed me right off and loads of other lovely people who were so nice standing up for us ,specially beccy and her husband. Thanks Becky if your reading this.☺jane and jaz
My daughter

Sorry down the front at Leeds stylus on sat😁
-
That's a shame, purplehaze. I don't know why some people think it's ok to behave like that. I was at Stylus too, near the back and my friend had an altercation with someone. There was a lovely man called Paul who helped us; if you're on here Paul, thank you x
Thank goodness for the good people

Leeds is always a good gig but it always brings out the "macho men" pha = tossers !
-
I felt so bad for my daughter jaz , she has grazes on her arms and bruises up one leg and a nip mark where her skin got pinched between the barrier and the idiot tosser who was ramming her ,when it's your baby getting hurt you get angry, specially when it's a middle aged man hurting a young girl, even when we asked him nicely to step back or move his arm as he was hurting her,he refused and said we shouldn't be at the front, well I've bin at the front for every gig for 23 years and before now have made friends with so many nice people, never has anyone bin nasty like this ,a bit of pushing I even enjoy but this was just mean😣
-
I too was at the Leeds gig on Saturday night & witnessed a couple of altercations all involving one particular guy upsetting a lot of people. I was near the back to the right & it was a pretty tight setup on that floor because of the layout of the venue everyone was kinda boxed in, but this clown was bouncing into me from behind, eventually he bounced into the pit & started smashing into people pretty hard including a couple of younger teens. He was pushed out of the pit & towards the front by some of the lads but he kept coming back hitting into anyone that wouldn't shove him back including girls & some of the younger fans. I'm no shrinking violet but I didn't want to get aggro with this idiot as things could have turned out a lot worse. My concern was the lack of security in the Stylus & the fact that this bloke could go on bullying people on the floor for as long as he did. As I was saying to my friend, if it was Rock City or some of the other regular venues the security would've know what the score was with Army fans & this fool would've been ejected well early on. Hope your daughter was ok after the incident Purplehaze & it didn't ruin her experience. Des.

Thank-you, she is fine it was just a shock cause she has been coming along with me quite a few times and nothing has happened like this before,it was probably the same guy who you saw causing bother all over ,the man next to us was saying to him nicely could he back off ,then the idiot threatened to stove his head in . At least the good people at army gigs outweigh the bastards 😃
-
Sorry to hear about this Jane. I know you like to do your own thing at the front and you should be able to do so without some tool telling you otherwise. Hope its not put you off future gigs. As you say, most people at NMA gigs are there together as one enjoying the same thing as one body. Problem is, every body has an arsehole >:(
-
I don't think there would be much that would put me off new model army gigs,i usually go to three a year it's my thing to look forward to it's about the only place where I don't feel out of place, as my whole life I've never really fitted in ,so I wouldn't give that up ,I think I'd rather give up my right hand😄
-
Sorry to hear you had Jaz had a bad time :(
If leeds was anything like Buckley, the set was quite charged and it may have lead to a few being a bit over excited. I love being on the barrier and tbh I got a few hard hits from the same guy who'd had a few too many shandies when the classics cracked up.
Won't be stopping me being on the rail at Rock City though :)
-
Shoddy this whoever did it to this young girl wants to sort himself out . Nothing wrong with a bit of pushing and shoving but at Boro a few years back blokes in their forties and fifties were lumping seven bails out of each other and getting teeth knocked out , that's just ridiculous
-
I know it's ridiculous everyone would have a much better time without the aggressive macho bullshit of some 😁
-
Sorry to hear that, there's always some tosser about. Hope your daughetr is ok and hasn't been put off. Well done done for standing your ground. Peace X
-
Jaz has just ordered tickets for rock city and we will be down the front as always 😊 also thanks to everyone on here who has asked after jaz and been really nice😘 it means a lot
-
Hi Jane,
Becky's other half here. We're glad that Jaz wasn't put off and is going to rock city.
The chap in question was quite something else wasn't he? Becky had bruises all over from where he had purposefully elbowed her, and he told her he was going to deck me after the concert.
He disappeared when I called him out for it though.
Nice to chat to you both and see you down the front again sometime.
-
Hello oh thanks so much for sticking up for us ,sorry you nearly got in a fight ,I was so glad to be standing next to you and Becky, say hello to Becky.,see you down the front again sometime 😃
-
Sorry I only remembered Becky's name what's yours?
-
A terrible tale though sadly not a rarity. Good to read that others stuck up for you x
-
Thanks!☺ Thankfully it's mainly nice folk you meet whilst at nma gigs
-
Sorry you had such a rough time down the front in Leeds. The pit usually gets a bit lively, but I wouldn't expect that kind of behaviour at the barriers. Then again, there was a guy (in a red T-shirt) causing loads of people hassle in the pit in Leeds, so maybe it was just one of those nights.
Hope you and your daughter's next gig experience is much more enjoyable. :-)
-
Over the last few years I've been to nma about thirty times and although it gets rough, it's not the same as bullying and being nasty though ,cause usually I enjoy the front dancing, and having a good sing ,getting shoved about a bit,its all part of a good nma gig, everyone having a good time . I think the man in question was just looking for bother I won't let that idiot stop us going to gigs😀
-
Blimey, that sounds bad, what an utter c-word. I have to stay out of the pit these days thanks to those health problems that I'm always banging on about ;) , but my impression was that the pits were as frenzied as ever but with genuine respect and help if someone got into trouble. Manchester last week looked manic but it also looked good-natured. What did the guy look like? Might be a heads-up if he shows up again...
-
I was at Leeds too and also felt really disappointed by the arrogance of some fans who seem to think they have more rights to be at the gig than anyone else. There certainly were a couple of really ignorant tossers there that night who spoils it for some. I've been to around 50 NMA shows and this was the worst; most are pretty friendly.

I 'helped' this idiot out of the way several times that night.
Don't know what he was playing but kept coming back for more
We also had another idiot at Cardiff who seemed hell bent on flying in all the time
-
In my opinion, it's a way better and more friendly place down the front now than it used to be in the days of the circles right across the floor - 'How dare you intrude on our private NMA party?!'... Yes a few idiots around, but in general there are not too many people looking to cause trouble..
-
So sorry the Leeds gig had to end like that for your daughter - and for some others as well, it seems.
Such a shame there are always some idiots spoiling it for others. >:(
If it was all happening right at the barrier - why didn't security remove that person, I wonder?
Hoping for better luck for you and your daughter at Nottingham :)
-
I did wonder why security didn 't chuck him out as he had loads of warnings off them but just threatened them and told them to f off. We still had good time and it hasn't put my daughter off joining me in fact I'm bringing two daughters to the Newcastle gig ;)
