Title: London 14 Dec - where is the place to be
Post by: Ary on August 06, 2017, 02:48:07 PM
Hi All

First time getting to London for a NMA gig - so dream comes true.
Normally I´m right in front so first or second row.

Now the question - is balcony an alternative ? See the whole show from above and enjoy the craziness in another way ? Never done that and not sure if London is the place to start ?

Thanks

Ary

I went to My first NMA gig at the forum back in 94 and was at the front of the balcony which was ace especially when the strobes kicked in,  been downstairs at other gigs - its a bit like rock city but higher ceiling and stage. Hope this helps  :)

Odd question, mate.  Yes, the balcony is an alternative.  I often go for that option due to certain health problems.  But if you don't have those problems (hopefully) so what do you want to do?  Get sweaty and battered in the pit or watch it all go off from a distance and enjoy watching the towers go up and that gorgeous mayhem ensue?  I used to love the moshpit but it's not for me anymore...   :-[

Go with your bad self and place yourself wherever feels good in the heat of the moment...   ;)

Sorry to hear that you can not join the pit anymore.

Thanks, can you go back and forth or are you stuck to your selection ?

Ah, I think I know what you're getting at now!  Are you asking if being in the balcony or being at the front is an option depending on what ticket you bought?

From what I can make out, there are two ticket options, the balcony or the 'floor' area, both the same price.  I haven't been to The Forum in a few years, but if memory serves, you can go where you want.  But this might be wrong, so can someone more knowledgable about this venue clarify?

The forum sells tickets for upstairs or downstairs and they the security certainly made you stick to that (at least when i went recently) If it was me i would go downstairs on the top of the stairs above the moshpit and close to the bar! its easy to swap tickets with people though if you ask around and want a different viewpoint, the sound can sometimes be ropey if you go to far upstairs. Hope that helps matey!
