JS played the same track last night at Leicester and said it was written around the same time as 'Navigating By The Stars' but wasn't finished in time to make it on the album.
He said it was about the whaling ship 'Exeter' and mentioned the book and film 'In the Heart of the Sea'.
Beautiful song. He joked that as they had run out of 'Navigating' CDs this track might make the re-issue

Why can't people shut the f*ck up?!

JS also played another un-recorded song at Leicester. Youtube link below. Sorry, it is only half the song, my wife had her phone set to only record two minutes. Excellent song in what was a truly superb and thoroughly enjoyable night. I have to confess, this was the first time I have been to a JS solo gig. They are usually at out of the way places I cannot easily get to. This one was one quick train ride. So glad I went, I thought he sounded absolutely superb.

Really wish they would bring out a live JS solo album, or maybe a double album, JS on one disk, JS with DW on the other. Would give a different take on some of the classic NMA tracks.

Hi Shush, the song is Stoned, Fired And Full Of Grace which appears on the Justin Sullivan & Friends DVD. It's a great song that really deserves to be recorded. It's a shame I couldn't make these shows, it sounds amazing!
-
Thanks Fentiger. I do not have that DVD. Perhaps I should start writing my xmas list ;)
-
I've always hankered after a full-on, full band version of 'Stoned...', who knows, maybe one day...
Hmmm... that name 'Shush'... sounds vaguely familiar. Who knows, maybe one day he might become a regular around these parts... ;)
-
Always happy to see a new member
-
Thank you for your warm welcome Pol and Raymond. I am sure we will get to know one another as time goes by, maybe even meet up at a gig one day.
::)

Eh, my dementia seem to be inaccurate. I think I've heard a "Shush" word earlier too? ;)

Not entirely sure that you both have slithered into senility, I reckon it's proof of wormholes and timewarps ;D Hello again Shush :-*

Senility, obviously...

Hello Anna mi' duck :)

Think there was a previous member with the same name. I have looked at some of his posts. Clearly a very pleasant and intelligent individual. :o
