It's only a few weeks away and it'll be here before you know it! ;)
So whose coming? For the traditional 'stand in line for ages outside Rockers in the freezing rain with a gig at the end of it' thing? ;D
Also, where we meeting? I believe the Tap is the new venue for the aftershow party (RIP, Spanky's!) so perhaps a new venue for the pre-gig-meet? Any ideas? I'd suggest The Horn In Hand, just around the corner, but someone with a better understanding of Nottingham might be able to suggest something better... yes, Shush, if you're reading this, I'm looking at you... ;)
I truly can't wait to meet up with old pals (some of whom I haven't heard from in a good long while) at the best venue in the UK to see our beloved NMA, you know who you are, please post back!

Well I will be there, normal arrangements (hopefully ) Strathdon booked, ticket on mantle piece. Still to book the train hopefully this week. Arrive in Nottingham about 2pm , shower , food, maybe a kip lol then to pre gig meet. Looking forward to meeting everyone again, won't be drinking as I can't handle it anymore.

All things considered I think the best and easiest place to meet is the Tap. Its the people you are with rather than the place that makes a good pub session.

The Tap! See You there!
-
Super smashing great lovely :)

Already planning it... get into Nottingham a bit after twelve (with me lifelong gig-mate Dan The Postman), lunch at the Pit And Pendulum (sorry, Shush, I know you dislike the place but they do cracking good burgers!), check in at the Premier Inn, maybe have a nap (because I am old as shit) and off to the pre-gig for about four pm or so, drinks and meets with friends old and new and then THE GIG, followed by a burger at that little stand outside of Rockers and then an aftershow, where I'll try and have conversations through the fog of drink and the deafening music and, usually, fail to make much sense of anything...
As long as NMA play Nottingham at Christmas, this will be my modus operandi... long may it continue... :D
-
Aftershow party definitely at the Tap
Ive ordered my ticket but now waiting to see if work are going to f**k up my plans
There's talk of working in Liverpool Lime Street on the Sat night and Milton Keynes on the Sunday night!!!!!!!!!!!
I really hope to see you lot in Notts
-
Time off confirmed
Train ticket booked
-
So... this time next week we'll be amidst the maelstrom that is the traditional Nottingham 'last weekend before Christmas' gig... :D
Truly cannot wait.
Any updates, new folks to add to the people we're hoping to meet, questions for newcomers, anything? Hey, planning these things is part of the fun!

I am reliably informed by my younger son after his visit to the big city last night that Spanky's is now open again but is now called, Albert's. Apart from the odd lick of paint is more or less exactly as it was before. I would imagine that many NMA fans returning to Nottingham for the annual pilgrimage may not know it has been closed for most of the year and will go there before and after the show. Preferring this pub to the Tap as I do, I would sooner meet at Albert's , but I am happy to go with the flow and follow the crowd.
-
Gotta say that I'd rather go to Alberts than The Tap for a pre-gig... much easier to get a pint, meet with pals and The Tap is so damn LOUD that you can't actually talk to people... Alberts for me, mate!
-
Ok. See y'all there!!
-
Ditto, will be at Alberts around 5.45.
-
Alberts it is then ......... unless ,of course, it changes again ;D
-
Suits me, the soft drinks in the tap are rank rotten.
