I remember JS saying at the time that Eight marked his rebirth as a songwriter. A lot of this is reflected in the album artwork (and the title) and has been discussed here before. The skull with the missing tooth, the snake, etc.
I always wondered if the four black bars (three horizontal, one vertical) that form the backdrop for the other symbols represent a symbol themselves. It does look similar to Celtic Ogham symbols or even the I-Ching. I'm not that vexed in mythology but very intrigued by it.
Any suggestions?

A very interesting question! I don't have an answer to this, but would like to have some discussion about it here..
I didn't even know that justin said something like this.

Best (but perhaps not easy to get an answer) way is to ask Joolz ;)
I`ve watched some tv reports about old graves found around Stonehange and other old often mystic celtic places in Britain and these pictures reminded me of the Eight cover ...

Thanks for the replies. It would be great to get more input.
This thread ended up in the wrong forum somehow. Does anybody know how it can be moved?

Yes I can move it. Where do you want to move it too?

Thanks Viv! I think it would be more appropriate in the 'New Model Army' board.
