New Model Army Songbook
« on: June 20, 2012, 07:10:02 AM »
I'm a (really really awful) guitar player and whilst chords are available to download on the net would much prefer it if there was an official New Model Army song/chord book (preferably acoustic).

I don't know much about these things but it might be something fairly easy to set up as a download from the shop and a way for the band to boost the coffers during these troubled times.

One can live in hope

Not sure, but I've not seen a tab or transcription book of NMA songs personally. I learn stuff by ear anyway, I can fathom tab, but notation? Not a prayer.........
Try Amazon mate, if aint ever been listed on there, it aint out there..........

No, there is none. I am no professional player either, but "know enough to understand". There are some good Tabs out there...but I am still missing the exact/100% correct versions for some songs.

Remember that there was a request for an official Songbook in the past...but I guess the chance is rar....

Didn't know there was an official one. There's some bits in the NMAFC issues I think? I can have a look if you want?

There's nothing official but there are plenty of tabs/chords available:

http://home.arcor.de/karmadrome/
http://www.nma.jjbohn.com/nmabuch.html#gitarre

They might not be 100% accurate but they'll get you close.

I asked the man himself at the Thunderbolt after his acoustic set on the Joolz book launch tour and he's not planning one.

There are some links to fan sites with guitar tabs for a lot of the NMA songs on the links section of the NMA site... they aren't perfect and I have made some changes based on watching Justin chords played live or on DVDs.

Karmadrome's the most accurate, but unfortunately the least updated. If anyone knows of a tab for Vanity please reveal it's location?

Yeah I'd like that too, have reworked Green and Grey from what's published online in the fan tabs as what Justin played is quite a bit different in the verse I found watching him at Bradford the other night

Justin's always played it different from Rob's version. I think the phrasing and riff pattern get hard to cross over when yer doin' vocal and guitar at the same time........ Like juggling with one hand and frying an egg with the other.....
