Peninusla festival Romania-Ticket help
« on: July 18, 2012, 07:38:38 AM »
Is anyone going, more importantly has anyone outside Romania figured out how to buy the tickets?

Went to the ticket site with a native Romanian(Moldovan) speaker sitting right next to me, as well as running through it in english, and we'll both be damned if we can figure out how one pays for the tickets, you know with a credit card?...Some gobbledy gook about bank transfers but being as how my bank requires transfers in person with ID and my bank is freaking 12000 miles away, not terribly convenient....

Any Romanian fans on here can help with this? Or if you know if I could buy tickets in person in Iasi? That's a 2 hour drive away and a real pain, but if nescessary, and a lot less of a pain than driving all the way to Targu Mures to find it sold out

I am definitely going. I haven't purchased my ticket yet, but if I do so by the 1st of August it will be 40 RON (~9 euros) for just one day instead of 60 RON (~13 euros). The problem is that my next paycheck only comes on the 10th next month, so I'm really strapped for cash till then. What I could do though is ask how you can get a ticket from outside Romania when I go to buy mine (next week I guess), and I'll let you know.
Unfortunately I've never been to Targu Mures, so I'm unable to provide any tips regarding accommodation, pubs and such, but as I said I'll help you with the ticket.

I'm Romanian btw :) Try to avoid trains at any cost, it will probably be the slowest ride of your life (ask Naeni).

Ok, sorry I can't be any help to others, as I got lucky....Was sitting around work complaining about it and turns out a lady I work with was headed to Cluj this week to visit her sister, so she's getting them for me.....

Voidship, yeah, no trains...we'll be driving over from Chisinau, expect it will take 8-10 hours but so be it.....

Great, Billy! I was going to suggest the same (have a Romanian buy them for you)
For all the others who're planning to go but have trouble with the tickets: unfortunately you cannot buy tickets outside Romania (pretty stupid, I know). Eventim.ro, the site that sells the tickets, has only got selling venues in Bucuresti, Timisoara and Cluj Napoca. I've just ordered mine online, I'm off to pick it up  :D

Slight correction: you CAN buy them online, but you won't be able to pick them up unless you're already in RO (they have to be collected within 72 hours from the moment you purchase them).
