I couldn't help but notice (thanks to pics sent by Jack) that ya'll over in the UK are (or were) having a wee bit of difficulty navigating the sudden snows you got.
I also remember the sheer chaos that ensued back in December 2010, when I flew over there to see the boys, and your airports were shut down by four inches of wet snow.
So according to the weather forecasts tonight, we are looking at temperatures hanging around a warm, balmy minus 28 degrees Celsius. But with the wind chill, we're looking at around minus 41. There is literally three and a half feet of snow outside my house right now (give or take a few inches...I can actually hop over the fence, because there is snow packed down against it so high, the top of the fence hits my knees...it normally is up to my chest.)
With the exception of people saying, "Screw this, I'm staying home," I expect the city will run like clockwork, and no one will even really talk about it. It's January, and this is pretty normal for you if you've lived here a while.
Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not posting this to brag about the hardiness of Edmontonians or poke fun of the UK, but to ask you all a question.
How is the weather where you live RIGHT NOW, and if the weather is terrible, how are you keeping yourself warm and cozy, and if applicable, with whom?
I myself will be bundled up under a blanket with my Andii and the kids, watching The Royal Rumble and sipping on hot drinks. Awesome night!
