Band photo in BDAW booklet
« on: September 28, 2013, 09:14:50 AM »
Apologies if this has been discussed already but I can't find a thread on it.

The band photo in the BDAW booklet is very intriguing. So much symbolism there. The old house, the window, the reflection, the turned back, everyone looking in different directions but still together, four facing one way and one the other...

It seems very relevant and befitting of the album and the band's more recent history. Trying to look forward yet looking back, trying to look in but looking out yet back at yourself, being part of a group but yet standing out.

In my mind the most poignant band photo to date.

Any thoughts?

You're probably right about the symbolism of the picture, myself i thought it was a quite striking picture, there's a feel of melancholy about it, a bit like "our young years are behind us, now we are in the autumn of ours lives", with Justin's "old" face mirroring in the window.
Whether you like the album or not, i must say that this picture and the booklet were really carefully done.

Not seen it yet so no comment, but the band photo from High always reminded me of the band photo from Alice in Chains album Dirt. Color scheme as much as anything.
