Just curious!

What is F1? The only F1 I know of is the one on my computer's keyboard?

Been following F1 since the early 80s, and still addicted to it !  I like all sorts of motor sport really, including bikes, but I get bad withdrawl symptoms if I miss an F1 race !

I've got used to the sound of this year's cars. Doesn't bother me too much that they're not quite as loud as the V8s. I remember the 6cyl turbo cars of the 80s and they also sounded nothing like the V10s and V8s which were to follow, but I don't recall anyone complaining about the sound of them back then. Think we just go too used to the unearthly scream of the V10s and the shrill V8s over the last couple of decades. Mind you, nothing comes close to the gorgeous singing howl of the 1995 Ferrari 412 T2 V12. That was fantastic !

I'm more bothered about the current regs resulting in those bizarre noses they have this year, though I believe they're looking at changing something to make those more normal next season. I was at the Goodwood Festival of Speed a few weeks ago, and they had a line up of late 80s/early 90s ex Prost & Senna Mclarens in the entrance way to the driver's club. Man, they were like sculptures. Absolutely beautiful cars. I wish F1 cars still looked like that !

Whilst i agree with your point the cars in the 80s and 90s certainly looked and sounded better.
You have to remember that things have changed for environmental and safety concerns and that can only be a good thing.
Personally i prefer the British Touring Car for close up all action racing and you never know who is going to win
I also love the MotoGp, the Isle of Man TT and the British Super Bike

I also love Moto GP. Gotta admit it's nice seeing an Aussie do so well in the Formula 1 this year, though! I'm quite enjoying watching him show Vettel up  ;D Whether that's going to last, we don't know, but it's still very nice to see.

Having only been a big F1 supporter for the last five years, I don't really know much about the 80s and 90s cars (except from watching the Classic Races on Sky) but I don't have too much of a problem with the way the new ones sound. I think this year has shaken things up a bit and watching the drivers have to wrestle the cars into submission is very interesting and is really sorting them out, IMO!
