'magic little touches'
« on: September 10, 2016, 12:33:41 AM »
1. When the piano comes in in 'Beginning'

2. The Ennio Morricone Dollars trilogy style 'wang-ang-ang-ang-ang' guitar note in 'Eyes Get Used to The Darkness'

3. Justin's Tom Waits growled delivery on Burn the Castle

4. The gospel-ish backing vocals on Part the Waters.

All so f*cking good. Feel free to add your own.

This album is proper class  8)
I meant what I said at the time that I said it.

Yes there are some great touches. Not sure I can explain it properly but I also like the muffled shouting part of Devil. Really is a great album isn't it, and it feels like our secret as the wider world wrote this band off years ago!

I truly think you can find several magic little touches on every song on this extremely well crafted album. For one, love the way Beginning flows into "Burn the Castle" leading to the wonderful guitar work at the the beginning of the song.  Besides that, some of the deep bass entries to a couple, MD's drum work throughout Born Feral, etc, etc.

Born Feral's slow build, and then awesome chorus.  Then the pause...  Then the DRUMS>>>>  Think this will *kill* live.

Oh yes  :)

Absolutely love MD's drum work throughout "Born Feral".

The lyrics to "Die Trying" would have to be classed as one of the 'magic little touches' on the album.

The gentleness of Justins voice in "after something"
