French Artists
« on: January 01, 2019, 04:54:02 PM »
Thanks Valstar and Ghosttrain for answers to Contranbando and Calvin Russel
Last night was a bit boring and I thought, why do I (and perhaps most of us here) seem to know nearly nothing about french artists?

Now I`m listening to the new Alan Stivell - Human Kelts (some old of his celtic songs in a new kind, some songs with other ones and a kind of his world music work) - love it
and
all other french artists outside folk rock I know and followed by buying a lp or cd?

Years ago, when I was young:
Gong and Magma
later Noir Desir, Detroit ....

But there must be a lot more music I don`t know but would like and which aren`t mentioned in the music prints here in germany - or are french (rock, metall, folk, blues) bands only local stars?

Can`t be ;)

And me, I`ve got a black place in my heart
Still got this hole in me
Perhaps - I am the master of nothing?

I have just come across this,an album called Obsolete by Dashiell Hedayat a writer of some renown in France. He uses Gong as his backing band, recorded during Camembert Electrique sessions. The album is rated by the French edition of Rolling Stone Magazine as the 81st best French rock album.........it is brilliant sounds like a Gong album.. 8)
