I broke my ankle two days before that. I was massively full of pain killers with crutches and an ankle splint, then went on and did my final UK show, then spent some time in agony backstage after the adrenaline wore off. John Peel looked bemused as I passed the crutches to Brett, downed some co-codamol with cider and walked in stage.

Good gig, as I recall.
