Thanks from firefighters
« on: February 21, 2012, 05:40:49 PM »
I just had a phone call from the Yorkshire rep of the Firefighters Charity thanking everyone concerned for their generosity in auctioning Justin's guitar to raise funds for them. She'd have loved to collect the cheque in person at the Leeds Ignite Gala, and thank people then, but she was out of the country and has only just returned.

She was, I think, quite stunned - the charity doesn't have a particularly high profile (her words, not mine) and it can be difficult to raise all the money they'd like to, so this means a lot to them. In case you need reminding, the guitar auction raised £350, and this was supplemented by a donation of £50 from the landlord of the Fox & Newt, venue for the Leeds Gala, making a total of £400. So sincere thanks from them for your kindness and appreciation of the work they do.

 :)
