Elbow
« on: June 03, 2015, 11:26:32 AM »
Does anybody here like them? They remind me of The National which I like a lot. I have liked the odd song in the past but have never really bothered to investigate any further. However, I heard their latest album the other day and really like it. Looks like they have done quite a bit of stuff.

Does anybody have any recommendations? They're obviously quite different from NMA so not sure if there is much overlap but it's worth a try.

Love them! Folk who only know 'One day like this' often compare them to Coldplay...(shudder)...which is nonsense (imo). A superb band with a really interesting back catalogue.
I'd recommend 'The Seldom Seen Kid' and 'Leaders Of The Free World' as great intros. It goes without saying that they are superb live  :)

Bought that Elbow cd and a dvd for my sister for christmas ( she found it interesting after 30 minutes on tv live) and I wanted to know this before I wrapped it in glitter paper
I´m not a real fan of that kind of music, but would have no problems to go with her to a gig (much better than Grönemeyer ) ;)

 Johnz,
You really think a "Currywurst" with red hot or normal ketchup isn`t much better than a dip of
"Schwarzbraun ist die Haselnuss"with or without Rammstein?
I better leave you here and fall asleep without  a link to Atemlos - Helene Fischer ;D

Try this: Da da da

Good night and sweet dreams  ;)

Lol! I'd say they are all different shades of awful.

Anyway I just got Seldom Seen Kid and I really like it so thanks again for the recommendation.

Myself and Frazzle saw them recently and as a live band they were flipping brilliant!
