Gave that new Blade Runner film another watch tonight... I really liked it the first time at the cinema but liked it even more at home on Blu-Ray.  Picked up on a few things in the early parts of the movie that paid off nearer the end, stuff I didn't notice the first time around.  Still think it's a bit overlong, but it's a great sequel to an absolute classic...

Justice League.  Not quite as bad as I was expecting, but far from the best example of how I could have spent two hours of my life.  Re-arranging my sock drawer, for example.  Only bothered because of my sad schoolboy-ish crush on the new Wonder Woman, quite frankly.

Thought justice league was ok , again wasn't expecting much but very entertaining for what it is . Started watching arrow quite a few seasons to get through,  again very enjoyable,  for fans of the punisher and dare  devil or those who believe in vengeance.

Just binge-watching 'Boys From The Blackstuff'... possibly the very, very best UK TV show of all time?  Hilariously in places, utterly gutting in others and just as prescient today as it was back in the 80's...

Anna, I'd highly recommend it.  Yes, it's overlong, but it really sticks to the ethos of the original, that whole 'what does it mean to be human, or otherwise' thing.  They could have made an action-heavy remake to get the kids in (although there are a few superbly-directed action scenes), but it's a slow burner.  I don't want to post any spoilers but it elaborates on the concepts of the first one in a brilliant fashion.  Such a shame that it wasn't a big hit because there are enough plot threads that could have led to an amazing third movie...  do check it out and let me know what you thought!

I must get around to that new Cloverfield film, enjoyed the first and thought the second one was excellent.

Just gave 'Goodbye Christopher Robin' a go, liked it very much, one of those British films that is terribly polite but quite moving as well.  A lot deeper and less cheesy than the trailer indicates...  and it has Margot Robbie in it, so that's always good.

So, Bunny, just watched that new Cloverfield film and it was a mix of some good bits, some truly terrible moments (the stuff with the hand?) and an awful lot of 'wot in the actual FOOK is going on now?'   

Apparently it was supposed to be released into cinemas but the studio figured it would flop so dumped it onto Netflix.  BUT... there's a new Cloverfield film apparently to be released into cinemas this Autumn... set in World War 2 supposedly.  Gotta give it to the guys who make these films, they're not making it easy on themselves to tie up these loose ends...

I think the paradox/alternate universe allowed for the wtf moments. And kind of allows for the hand bit as well. I didnt actually think the hand was terrible, just weird. But alternate universe weird. Its an ok film that maybe tried to be a bit to clever. But yeah I get why it went straight to netflix....bit like Adam Sandler lately 😁

To be fair, Bunny, I was pretty drunk when I watched it, might try a sober viewing sometime.

Just watched 'The Shape Of Water', one of the big BAFTA contenders tonight.  Blimey, this one was an oddity... borders on ridiculous at times but I quite enjoyed it.  Hard to shake the idea, though, that's it's basically a remake of the last half hour of 'Splash' with added gore and some fish-monster humping...    An unusual film but worth a punt.

The new hell-raiser-  wow was the worst film I've seen in a long time.  Tries too hard to be weird,  n giving the film a serial killer with a twist didn't work . Not at all frightening  , kinda had shades of the old erasure head film but only in strangeness.  Avoid  !

Ha!  Downloaded it the other night but I doubt I'll bother after your fine opinion!  Has any horror series been so ill-served by these sequels?  The first was a magnificent horror classic, the second quite good, the third a bit 'meh' and after that... well.
