.....that sounds good! The producer Joe Barresi worked with Kyuss, QOTSA, Melvins, Fu Manchu - quite typical for Stoner / post stoner sound and on the other hand with Isis (postrock) and Clutch! I think these bands are "classic" guitar driven bands...I was a bit confused because the NMA says : "to bring a tough edge to what is not a traditional guitar-driven rock album"....maybe confused is the wrong word, let`s say I`m freaky excited :D
I love the new song and beeing a family member for over 25years I know I will not be disappointed!
Really looking foreward to hear the new tunes!!!
Oli
P.S. Justin and Michael are lucky, it`s not that cold in LA :P

I can't wait for this new album. It will be a MUST to crank the volume up up to 11!
As an aside: Isis' Wavering Radiant is one of the best albums ever. And Kyuss are like gods, for me... The new album will be super intense.

:) mmmm....that sounds good !

And I have to ask the traditional question: will there be a vinyl release? Although at over an hour of music, it would have to be a double :)
Now there's a mouth watering prospect.....
-
All I have to say is
!!!!!!!!!
-
"Permission to shout "Bravo" at an annoyingly loud volume, Sir!"
-
"to bring a tough edge to what is not a traditional guitar-driven rock album"...
The new song seems to be bass driven. Maybe that's the hint. Anyway, I love that direction ;)

I like the sound of gettin' the American blokey in to mix. Queens Of The Stone Age usually sound really good. Tho' Era Vulgaris doesn't to me. Tool are always hyper produced, I'm not a huge fan. But can't fault the production, it's the overly serious proggy vibe that leaves me cold.
I think March In september has a very Brave New World kinda feel, so maybe we'll get a very sparse, dry sound like that ep? Tho' I think it was said that most of the other new songs don't sound much like it........ Who knows apart from the 5 folks making it really? Sure it'll be a powerful slab of choonage either way......... 8)

Looking even more forward to seeing 'em in May! Hopefully the album will be out by then....

I like the job he did on the Bad Religion and Pennywise albums he produced (he has credits for loads of other interesting records (http://www.joebarresi.com/Discography)), would be very happy if a similar approach was taken to NMA.
I'm most interested in what Justin said in the interview for Sonicabuse (http://www.sonicabuse.com/2013/02/new-model-army-speak-to-sonicabuse/):
"It’s rather less of a guitar album and more of a drum album."
So it's an album full of Inheritances? ;)
-
Didn`t Michael say at the end of the JS& Friends tour some years ago
No, never I`ll do that again (looking at his bloody hands because of too much drumming) ???
I like the sound of Kyuss and Queens Of The Stone Age - the sound of Ceri and Michael in front and the rest as satellites - why not? Very interesting idea
-
Stoosh by Skunk Anansie has a great sound. Looking forward to this new album - intrigued now

going through the same kind of feeling! As expressed here http://meanders.blogspot.com.br/2013/02/what-more-in-common.html
aside2: Hi Milla! Back here after a long list of wrong passwords! Guess to you Isis is my Bad Religion!
-
As I mentioned in my post 25 march 1973 (today, my birthay) this new album will giive me new energies for the future. I strongly hope so at least.

ah ah u like it Milla eh? when u read Isis.................ah ah...........how are uuu doing in Italy now?

no man i think that means that the producer will bring a tough sound to what is NOT a traditional guitar driven record meaning not like the last one or the one before. Fair enough u cannot play like in the 80s (unfortunately I like that bass driven sound) and not always so hard like in the TIAGD album with us going crazy singing along................will see. am very curious.

By the way I actually like the sound of this year's Bad Religion album mixed by Joe Barresi. It's not so overproduced like some of their more recent records but has a very clear and transparent natural sounding mix. Looking forward to the new NMA album mixed this way.
-
Looking forward even more to a release date and news on the album tour so can get planning
-
I know there's no release date as yet, but when is the new album due? Is it expected to be a spring launch?
-
yeah but I think that producer worked with those bands but it should be siometing very different from the last one more a rock band in a room kike justin said. so let s expect less crazyness guitar driven tunes kind hard rock stuff. can t wait anyway

With the up coming gigs (going to Northampton and Sheffield) I was really hoping that the new album may have been imminent. I'm like an over-excited child! :D Was a bit disappointed to read the updated news item on the front page regarding it's release.
"It is due for release at the end of the summer and will be followed by a full tour beginning in autumn."
Ah well at least it means more gigs to look forward too :)
