Are there some fans of Blues music on this forum?
Do you have some blues albums and blues bands/songwriters to recommend to me?
I like Stevie Ray Vaughan, his albums like "Couldn't stand the weather", "Texas flood", "the sky is crying", etc.
I also fell in love with John Campbell (R.I.P. :'(), especially his beautiful, haunting, moving album "One believer"...highly recommended:

I was in Chicago a couple of years ago and saw Buddy Guy playing live at his club... now THAT was a bloody amazing night...

Up, 5 years later!
An underrated short lived band, Cry of Love, they did only two albums and their talented singer died a few years ago...still, their first album "Brother", blues rock album influenced by Free, Bad Company, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Hendrix...is fantastic!:

I also like what he did on my favourite Thin Lizzy album, the underrated "Renegade".

Blues is the worst music on Earth. Just so repetitive. Dull, boring, simplistic. Horrible.
That's the reason why I like punk and post punk. And New Model Army. Not one blues lick in the whole lot of it.

Maybe a listen to Into The Blues by Joan Armatrading may change your mind .... 8)....

Good stuff there! I like blues music, its more that i like it when i hear it, but i don't have any records.
Here's a blues session i really like, but it's too heavy to listen to it often. Blues reduced to the max you could say: pain...

I must confess, I don't actually have any of Joanne's albums, but most of what I've head from her I've liked. The track I posted above is from her 5th album, The Dirty Truth.
She was inspired by Stevie Ray Vaughan, Albert Collins and Jimi Hendrix. More info (and discography) here;

I also like when some artists not necessarily known for blues music, delve into blues territory. Like this for example;
Joe Satriani - Down, Down, Down

Yes ! I love Renegade too ! :)
It's the first album and first song i"ve heard from Thin Lizzy in the mid or late 80's, and i loved it from the start! I don't really know why this album met kind of hostile reviews from the critics and Thin Lizzy fans back in the 80's...great melodies and lyrics, in all cases.
It's too bad that Phil Lynott died so young. :'(

Yeah, Snowy co-wrote the title track with Phil. I immediately liked it the first time I heard it. Also love Angel of Death on the same album. I don't really get the hostile reviews either. Though the band were struggling as a unit by those days. Snowy admitted he didn't really fit in with the band (though I think he did musically), and left after that. There's a good write-up here about the album

If you like Cry of Love and especially his great singer Kelly Holland (RIP) here's some of his last recordings, sounding a bit like Cry of Love's fantastic first album, so bluesy rock soul mood..:

Another of the blues-rock greats worthy of mention here is Peter Green, and when he quit music in the early 70s he gave his '59 Les Paul to a young Belfast guitarist who went on to greater things...
