I was using this board because it is friendly and has really nice members. It was escapism. Now, it's all arguing. The arguing is getting nasty and mean.
It's getting to the point where actual illnesses are being used as insults. It is never okay to call someone schizophrenic as an insult in an argument. It really bothers me. My first boyfriend killed himself due to a struggle with schizophrenia. It's not funny but frightening to live with. It saddens me that it has come to this. :(
If we all just stop taking the bait, then maybe it will go away. It needs to go away, there is enough hostility and anger in the real world. Conflicting opinions is fine but music arguments are pointless
And I know I am guilty of taking the bait to but I feel it's gotten to be enough.

Totally agree with everything that Amanda said Its time to move on be the bigger and better person If you don't like or agree with someone who is constantly being negative ignore them they will soon get board n move. And yes I've been guilty of getting angry and feeding the troll with a reply too. I really liked this forum until a couple of weeks ago now its in danger of imploding

Good morning Amanda,
I thought the same earlier so I'm no longer going to reply to any of their posts
Hope you're keeping well

You're absolutely right. It's not acceptable to bandy real illnesses around as insults. That's what children do, and we're adults. Thanks for posting this and bringing us down to Earth. x
I've been guilty of taking the bait too yesterday, though I had only just come across all these posts, as I've not been in the forum for a while. On reflection though, I will now resist the temptation.
This whole scenario seems to happen on here about every 5 years or so for some reason. Someone joins, and breaks up the equilibrium with provocative posts, people join in, find it amusing, then annoying, then it can get nasty. Eventually the person leaves. But it is better not to get dragged in.

You're very right. I can still remember the "citymike" issue and also the quarreling in 2007 or 2008, or a "hunt" between the users where some were sure about someone (without telling a name) being a troll and others stated that's a ridiculous thought. If I remember right the topic was ten pages long.

no, we can't stop
not a hope

Well, 'that person' seems to have stopped... so should we.
