It's getting to the point where actual illnesses are being used as insults. It is never okay to call someone schizophrenic as an insult in an argument. It really bothers me. My first boyfriend killed himself due to a struggle with schizophrenia. It's not funny but frightening to live with. It saddens me that it has come to this.
You're absolutely right. It's not acceptable to bandy real illnesses around as insults. That's what children do, and we're adults. Thanks for posting this and bringing us down to Earth. x
I've been guilty of taking the bait too yesterday, though I had only just come across all these posts, as I've not been in the forum for a while. On reflection though, I will now resist the temptation.
This whole scenario seems to happen on here about every 5 years or so for some reason. Someone joins, and breaks up the equilibrium with provocative posts, people join in, find it amusing, then annoying, then it can get nasty. Eventually the person leaves. But it is better not to get dragged in.
