Any thoughts?
Bit of a military leaning with mine. I suppose full orchestra is more dramatic as a main theme and in scenes.
Here we go:
1. Where Eagles dare https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dh7S7V-y500
2. Battle of Britain (Luftwaffe March) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cNVVoH9-QH0
3. The Dam Busters (wow remastered!) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zyBLd1eRgts
4. Local hero (hats off to Mr Knopfler) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CagybSu2lNo
5. Das Boot https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vfbAc-H44Uw

Cheers

Coumarin... does it have to be the 'main theme' or a theme was recurrent throughout the movie?
Hey, you started this!
;)
-
Im not changing anything now. Ha!!! ;)

Main title theme. Not incidental stuff.
-
Bah. Tish and botheration.

OK, number one, for me, has to be 'Requiem For A Dream'... I fuckin' hate it when it get used on TV talent shows and the like!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iOAN8NOHVMM
So number 2, Vangelis, the end Blade Runner theme...

3... Schindlers List, this tune could make a statue cry...

Going onto a fourth one (and it's getting tricky now), Susperia, a brilliant 1977 Italian horror movie... creepy as heck.

So many I've had to miss out on, and I'm sure I'll revise my opinion five minutes after posting this, but number five, for me, is Blow-Out, a brilliant and rather over-looked Brian De Palma movie from the early 80's...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NOZ3bSJcOuE
So that's my once-and-for-all opinion and I will not change it!
Oh shit, I forgot John Carpenters awesome synth tunes...

Vangelis, well he deserves a topic on his own. Fantastic keyboard technician, and with John Anderson..... Magic.
This springs to mind https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=94dY-QxjDiE

Great thread idea!
I'm thinking of this one now...very moody, haunting, melancholy...great piano and 70's keyboards...Colin Towns's "Full Circle" main title:

So number 2, Vangelis, the end Blade Runner theme...

I've seen for the first time "Blade Runner" on the big screen two months ago...it's an incredible film in theaters...so atmoshperic and sad with great characters...incredible visuals...
Going onto a fourth one (and it's getting tricky now), Susperia, a brilliant 1977 Italian horror movie... creepy as heck.

Others memorable Goblin/Argento main titles are from "Deep Red", "Tenebre", "Opera" and "The Card Player". ;)
Another haunting main title by Fred Myrow and Malcolm Seagrave from cult horror movie "Phantasm" (director: Don Coscarelli)...it's a great track and reminds me somewhat of...Goblin and The Door's "Riders on the storm"!:

A timeless classic from John Carpenter...:
