As much as I love the Pogues, I reckon old Shane might be kidding us with the drunken appearance, bottle of wine on stage etc....saw them last about 3 years ago at Splendour in Nottingham - they were excellent and I really enjoyed the gig despite the rain but one minute Shane's staggering on the stage, slurring his words and having to be propped up, five minutes later he's sober enough to remember every lyric and able to chat lucidly to the crowd......just reminded me a bit of Dean Martin with his 'wine' that was really blackcurrant juice.....image is important an' all that....

That said, I would definitely see them again.

I haven't listened to this band since Shane Mac Gowan left...

No, this is old story ! He left in 1992 and they reunited in 2000 or 2002

I hope you're right! I saw them last summer in Bonn and in Antwerp. Really good!!

On the Pogues-forum I read this: http://www.pogues.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=11710&start=15

I already bought my tickets for Cologne, hoping to see Shane again!  :)
