From the facebook page:
In October, we made every effort to make the 40th Anniversary Global Gathering as good, exciting, live and REAL as we could, but we were truly amazed at the positive response from everyone who saw it, even with all the connection and buffering issues. We have been inundated with requests to make a permanent hard copy of the concert available on DVD and we are now planning to do this in the new year.

Also if you go to the WDR site there is an extra 13 minutes of interviews available as well: https://www1.wdr.de/fernsehen/rockpalast/sendung/vierzig-jahre-new-model-army-uebersicht-100.html

It was a long night and a good  documentary  :)
NMA and Rockpalast - seems to be a perfect team work lasting so many years

So I`m shure a dvd is there next year .....

I was wondering if the Rockpalast documentary and/or the BDAW documentary would be shown sooner or later on the German/French tv Arte...it would be great.  Arte screened years ago the Wacken concert from 2015 and also there was a short documentary about the band in 2009 in Arte's music show "Tracks".

Rockpalast/WDR is one of the members of german tv ARD and ARD is a partner of ARTE - you sometimes find own productions of wdr rockpalast on arte (some NMA rockpalast concerts are in the arte mediathek today)- but own productions of arte on ard or their other regional members- I`ve never noticed that ....

The BDAW documentary isn`t an own production of wdr or arte - so they both don`t have the rights to publish it ?

Watched it five minutes ago, so great at all … all this pictures from the past,
small Justin with his family, NMA in the 80s …
So sad, this year, this time … how long will it take …

This documentary is fantastic! I didn't expect it to be that good, that it managed to tell "the old" story in such an interesting and well researched and written and filmed and edited way and especially with such a good pace. So many good ideas and pictures fitting the narrative and music. Like the beginning, when the camera moves close to a wall, the lyrics "from the concrete cities.." and then opening in one flow to "..to the wide open spaces.."
I liked the playful, 2.20min long collage of here comes the war from different concerts, giving the intense slow part a huge role and making it more than a short clip.
Also very intense was the moment after Justin told about the sudden massunemployment in bradford and then the footage of the strikes and demos with liberal education playing. Very intense and up to date!
A very good movie!
ever tried. ever failed. no matter.
try again. fail again. fail better.

This audio/visual bit together in synch was brillant! kudos to the director/editor!!
The director beautifully mixed together in one shot the two sides of the band urban/gritty/realistic and rural/pastoral/poetic/romantic

.

The BDAW documentary isn`t an own production of wdr or arte - so they both don`t have the rights to publish it ?

To bring it full circle the Geissendörfer Production not unknown to the WDR did also produce the BDAW documentary. And the BDAW dircetor Matt Reid was mentioned in the credits for archive support in the "From here" documentary.

Hi,
Does anyone know where I can find French subtitles for this video (my English is pretty bad).
Thank you.

i watched it. not bad. despite the fact that some issues repeat if one has watched the doku Between Dog and Wolf. but cool. a lot of Bradford which is cool.
