Paris NMA fan in need of friends!

Hello all,

It's been a long time since I posted - I have just moved to Paris for a new job at UNESCO and would like to get a life outside the office as soon as possible. Of course there is the February JS gig - would like to meet some Paris family members!

Advice welcome and would love to meet people at the gig... and I don't speak much French so getting into Paris life might be a bit of a challenge!

Sadly not getting to the Brixton gig...

i'll be glad to meet you, even if I have a kind of broken spoken english. But I don't live in Paris, but in parisian suburbs. In the North-West of Paris.About 1h or 1h30 from Paris by public transport. It depends where you are in Paris.

I work in the 9eme 3/4 days a week... i'd be happy to have lunch/ drink after work. My French is frankly appalling btw... and me & the other half will be at the gig in Feb for sure

Thanks so much for the kind messages! REALLY sorry it has taken me so long to reply... I got a bit caught up in Christmas holidays!

It would be great if we could all meet up. I am flexible in terms of lunch/drink after work. I do indeed work in UNESCO HQ at Place de Fontenoy but I don't mind meeting anywhere in the city really.

I'd be happy to meet in January, or just for a pre-gig drink on Feb 8th? Then perhaps we could meet up more after that.

Anyway, looking forward to meeting you all. And by the way, I don't speak French - although i intend to fix that situation...

I don't know any pubs near Place du fontenoy or in the 9ème. I often go to the bombardier near Pantheon or the Thistle near Etienne Marcel. If you want something more French, I don't have any idea right now... if you're into beer, there's the brewberry in mouffetard (lots of beers from anywhere in the world).
A good place for the pre-gig drink would be the art scenik, close to the boule noire with cheap beer.

The language barrier makes communication a bit difficult...
I leave in Paris, been a NMA fan since 1984. Saw a lot of gigs, and I went to Brixton last month.
I am just in relation with a couple of french fans, however I know the band disposes a good notoriety in France. it's a bit odd.

Your not alone, I understand that there are even fans in Guernsey (reveal yourself). I understand that you have a ticket for the Gillingham show are you attending?.

Where are you flying into, and do you need a lift to the venue. I will be working in Andover in the morning and then in Gillingham in the early afternoon and can go via Heathrow or Gatwick on M25 (London's Car Park).
It will be great to catch up again, just text or PM me and hopefully we can make some arrangements.
