Unfinished Symphony – Massive Attack. Really not my genre, but when something is sublime,,,

Having a YouTube David Bowie night. In terms of mass-market music, is there anyone better than Bowie? If you like disco, pop, rock, or alternative, then you like a bit of Bowie. For me personally, there are only two artists that I like as much now as I did when I first discovered music as a young lad, buying discounted singles in the cheap bin in Woolworths, and Bowie was one of um. Just gone through a few faves – Little Wonder, Loving the Aliens, and Jump, to name but a few. You can't go wrong!!!

Solas by Jamie Duffy.........beautiful, first heard the piece about 2 hours ago ,a young lady was playing it in our local Town Church.it only lasts about 3 mins on YouTube, but she repeated /played it for a good 10/15 mins. as one piece.I waited until she had finished, told her how much i liked it  and her playing and she gave me the details......

Bowie has too many great songs to mention and he made some damn fine videos as well.

Some under-rated songs with videos... Time Will Crawl, I'm Afraid Of Americans, Strangers When We Meet, Thursdays Child  and one I'm going to post the video for (because it's brilliant and Gary Oldman is in it) The Next Day...

Here's a blast from the past that I haven't heard in countless years, All About Eve, 'Scarlet And Other Stories'.... what an album.

Never arriving. Superb song and a great video that works and at the same time shows you it did not cost much; it just relies on the value of his nibs walking the land that gives him inspiration.

So glad i finally bought the album that i was thinking about buying very long time ago..Terry Reid - Seed Of Memory
The first time i heard his tunes were from a horror movie (yeah, where else would cthulhu get inspiration from..) with a great soundtrack. There were 3 Terry Reid songs on it and i loved every one of them, thought what a great artist-singer-songwriter and later i found out, that all 3 songs were from the same album. But it was always a little over the money i want to spent on cd and i waited. These three Songs: Seed of Memory, Brave Awakening and To Be Treated Rite are in many playlists i have and everyone of them felt to me like that one big masterpiece, hitsingle on an album, the rteason you like to listen to that album.
Whatever.. ;)

Listen here, if you don't know it already, i think you must know Terry Reid..

Apparently he was Jimmy Page's first choice of vocalist for the band that were to be called the New Yardbirds and morphed into Led Zeppelin, but Terry was stuck in contractual wranglings with Mickie Most and couldn't take up the offer.

There's a little booklet in the cd i got, some 4 pages of the history of Terry, haven't read it yet, but i just recently read about that he could have been in Led Zeppelin. I think he would have been great and it feels like another altentive timeline has emerged by that circumstances..somewhere out here is a alternative universe with Terry Reid as the lead vocals of Led Zeppelin..
