I'm going to M'era Luna. Woo hoo! Should be lots of fun.

If you see me, do come over and say hello - it would be nice to meet someone off the forum - might encourage me to use it more often! I'll be the slightly bemused-looking guy with a silly little beard, a bald head with some scruffy hair at the back, an NMA, Creaming Jesus or Blyth Power t-shirt and possibly clogs.

Also, does anyone understand the rules about plastic bottles and cans? The information on the website in English (my German isn't up to scratch unfortunately) says that glass bottles are not allowed, so use cans and plastic bottles instead. It then goes on to say that you'll be searched for cans and plastic bottles just about everywhere. This seems a bit odd.

Cans and plastic bottles are allowed on the campground, but not on the festivalground.
You can only take tetrabrick (up to 1,5l) on the festivalground nothing else.
Yes you'll be searched at the entrance of both.

I'll be there all weekend...so maybe I'll meet some of you. Only wearing a NMA-shirt on sunday though ;-)

Will be there, arriving Friday afternoon, will be sporting an Army shirt all weekend and no doubt a sore neck and facial bruising, as the wife is going too, and the amount of stunningly dressed females is sure to end in tears (mine I bet)

GMO
HIGH
WWTG
FTTS
LIVING IN THE ROSE
TIAGD
CHRISTIAN MILITIA
RED EARTH
WAR
G + G
OCEAN RISING
PURITY
ILTW

Brilliant weekend great to see some old faces and a few new ones too (BobG)
Despite a few technical problems the band played a great set that seemed very well received by the sea of black before them.
A couple of film cameras were on stage as was Solly so hopefully she might post up some of her usual amazing pictures.

Only bad point from the whole weekend for me was Placebo really rubbish and the mass exodus towards the campsite proves I was not the only one who thought it.

A great festival and should be added to your (must do before I die list).

Straight on for the days ahead.

Sonic Seducer (a german music magazine for wave/gothic pp and a sponsor of M`era Luna) publish a dvd with special clips of the festival in autumn every year (review  18.9.2012?)
NMA seem to have some fans inside the Sonic crew and perhaps that`s the reason for filming the gig, because they filmed the other ones before and NMA was on one of their dvd (festival or review of the year) ;)
And me, I`ve got a black place in my heart
Still got this hole in me
Perhaps - I am the master of nothing?

Briliant weekend. It was great to meet Markxe - first person on the forum I've knowingly met! To be honest, I was enjoying the NMA set way too much to notice the technical difficulties. Red Earth and HCTW were particular highlinghts, but it was all pretty spectacular.

Seeing the Nephilim in daylight was a bizarre experience. I think I'd agree with Mark that Placebo weren't really of a headlining quality. Would have been better if they'd swapped places with the Nephilim, then Carl & Co. could have played in more suitable darkness.

There was a wonderful atmosphere about the whole place. I've never really been a goth, but I think of myself as a goth sympathiser and it was great to be in goth company for the weekend. I'm not sure if it's Germany or goths, but it was all so friendly and happy and laid back. I suppose most of the UK festivals I've been to could also be described that way, but M'era Luna just seemed to go a step further in general loveliness.

And on the last night after the bands had finished, there was a big circle of people sat on the old roadway of the airfield, drumming with metal poles from somewhere and empty cans and plastic bottles, for absolutely ages. It was surreal, and wonderful. And when I finally dragged myself away from the drumming and went back to my tent there were metors streaking across the sky. Perfect.
